Denali Highway '23 Trip

You guys always seem to like my Alaska photos, and i like sharing them in full size rather than just cropped down Instagram posts, so here's some from my most recent trip across the Denali Highway. I've done it 3 times now and it's always jaw-dropping. No big wildlife sightings as usual, which is unfortunate. Still, the landscape is gorgeous, and that alone makes it worth the nearly 1000 miles I rack up each time I do it.

Caught the F22s doing what looked like some mock dog-fighting. 2 pairs of them, very cool to watch!

Those are awesome pic. Very envious of you folks that live in those types of areas. It's a 8-10 hour drive from Florida to get to some different terrain.

Speaking of F22's my son just sent me a pic yesterday of several 22's that showed up at his base in Kansas.

To be fair, it's a 6 hour drive from my house to the Western end of the Denali, or 7½ to the Eastern end, not including traffic, construction, and gas or lunch stops. The "highway" itself, which crosses between the only 2 roads linking the northern and southern parts of the state, is 135 miles from one end to the other and takes a good several hours if you don't stop to enjoy it at all. I had 23 hrs of drive time on this trip.

Wow that is amazing scenery! Thanks for sharing, that is truly the land of the wild. I am hoping to put together a Dempster Highway trip in next couple years in the Bronco. Alaska and the Yukon have always held me in awe and amazement.

Did the AlCan highway and Denali in my my brothers 74 Bronco back in 1987. Great trip.

As someone who uses their Bronco as a tool it is refreshing to see Broncos actually being used for a purpose, instead of a make believe lifestyle accessory.

So many posts have the vibe of little girls playing with and accessorizing their Barbie dolls for the purpose of looking pimp while driving over a speed bump at a Starbucks drive through.

Yours is refreshing, and authentic. Something that is lacking for most.
