Is there a thread that explains all of this step by step for those that are following. I have a WT 2.7 with 12k. I'm usually lucky to keep a car to 20k, but this damn Bronco is a keeper and want to go the extra mile. I have never changed fluids in a transmission, or diff and would appreciate some details. I found the Valvoline and the pump, but not seeing the frame oil on amazon and only "Genuine Ford Fluid XT-10-QLVC MERCON-LV Automatic Transmission Fluid - 1 Quart"

Any directions/step by steps would be appreciated!

That oil coming out is low and dirty ((Needs addressed!!))

Curious as to why you went with Mercon V versus the specified Mercon LV. Also curious as to why you would use an unlicensed version of Mercon (even though it is not the correct type)?

EDIT - Link to my videos: https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/change-driveline-fluids-early.83929/post-2108566

I'll be changing mine tomorrow and will write up a step by step for it. I would be happy to walk you through it.

Mercon LV is the correct fluid for the transfer case--not sure why the OP went with Mercon V. You can pick up 5 QTs for $39 on Amazon. I bought two because I plan to change it a few times before calling it good:

Mercon V is better if you live in cold climates. Had on hand. LV 5qt arrives tomorrow. Will switch out…

The 10 speed takes Mercon ULV, which usually stays pretty clean unless you have an internal issue. I would say it starts to get a little dirty on most vehicles I see around 60k. So no really need to worry about that anytime soon.

How does that work? Mercon V is thicker at every temperature.

I'm changing mine at 10K to remove break-in metals and to install my new Mishimoto pan. I'll post photos when I get another 5K on it.

So, you take the plugs out before you go 4 wheeling to let those areas "breath"?

I can honestly say, "wow" ... and it is prompting me to investigate mine.

Tip: When removing diff cover leave the top bolt loosely in and your cover will never fall in to the catch pan.

Beautiful helper you got there!

Did you put the 75w-140 gear oil in the front and the rear?
