I installed ditch lights on my ‘24 Badlands and want your opinion on aiming them. Right now, they are aimed about 45 degrees and downward from straight ahead. I have seen pictures of other Broncos having them aimed straight ahead and level.
Thanks

There is no “right” way to aim them, they should be aimed however you want them to provide lighting. I have mine angled outboard and slightly down so that they provide lighting to the sides and edge of the road.

You don't know if the other Bronco owners were more interested in how well they could see or how they looked.

Go someplace dark and make adjustments until you can see what you want to see. That's how I'm going to aim mine.

Mine are aimed like yours. I want to see a wider lighted view when turning and what’s off to the side when cruising at night.

I don't have ditch lights, so YMMV. Most of the ones I see in videos are angled to the side. I assume they are called ditch lights because they are supposed to illuminate the ditches, which if all is according to plan, should be along the sides. Forward illumination, I'd think would be better served by centrally located lights.

Now, I will say that when they are mounted and not doing anything the look a bit better to me pointed straight forward. My OCD likes that. I'd also think that creates a bit of glare on my hood. So, I've pretty much concluded that people who face them forward are doing it for looks rather than performance.

I have my A pillar LP4s aimed straight ahead and slightly down. They do a fantastic job in down range and the side emitters light the sides. For a dedicated ditch light I mounted S1s with the trail lens on the crash bars at 40-45* angles.

Mine aren't either, yet. Will do it Monday or Tuesday when crimp connectors arrive. I didn't like the ones available locally.

Gonna order moar lights and just use bluetooth as a means of power. Way easier than running wires. Time to win some car shows.

Aim them where YOU need them. Doesn't matter where someone else has theirs aimed.

If they are just for looks, who gives a crap where they are aimed.
