1966-1977 Broncos were(are) lean, light, narrow, nimble, and fun.
In 1978 they went "full size", and shared parts with the F- series truck line. They became awkwardly cumbersome, wide, and packed on weight like a fat kid left unsupervised by the chocolate fountain at a wedding reception.
Any guesses if the 7th gen Bronco will return to the F-series line, like it did 42 years ago?
Given Ford's trend of modern-retro styling, I fear the pattern they may follow.

No way does it swell up like the F1 p50. The rebirth of the bronco is aimed right at the jeep wrangler. Adding size would negate its ability to go Offroad and on jeep trails. It also would negatively impact the company-wide fuel efficiency report card. It’s possible they add a bronco as big as an F150. But I really do not see them replacing the wrangler size with solely a larger version.

Is Gen 7 considered the version that comes in 5 years or 10 years? I don't think the version in 5 years will change much. If sales drop off substantially and Ford's research indicates that it's because it's not big enough, it will grow. But if they've already done their homework, they've hit the sweet spot in sizing and it doesn't have to grow (much). But manufacturers love to make their vehicles get bigger and bigger for some reason. They grow until they are larger than the next-larger model used to be. Then they have to introduce a new vehicle to fit the size space where that vehicle used to be.

Do you happen to have the same graphic for width? That's one thing bugging me, especially with the Sasquatch package. Trails now are becoming narrower with the prevalence of UTV's

I don't think it will, I think this is Ford's answer to the Jeep. Saying that there may be 3 sizes of Bronco

Kinda like Escape, Explorer and Expedition

Can't go any wider, almost too wide now, although a couple inches longer (cargo) on the 2-door would be nice.

Really my only design complaints: 1. Body width is fine but gets wide with the extra axle width (I know, for stability) 2. Could have used 3" more rear overhang for cargo space (Ford is keeping it short to have great departure angle)

Remember, at the time GMC/Chevy and Dodge/Plymouth had full size pickup based SUVs at the time....

Hopefully they will come up with something like the old Jeep Unlimited 2-door, although it may take sales away from the 4-door. Stretched 2-door would be my preferred choice.

Yep, I have a 2 dr Unlimited, nice size, but I still think my old Bronco II's had as much interior volume with a 10" shorter wheelbase.
