In AZ, and yes it makes a huge difference. I had mine tinted before I drove it off the lot. (dealer's price on ceramic was about $100 less than the independent shops.) Did max legal on the sides (35%) and took the rears down to 20%.
What brand/product of ceramic did your dealer have installed?

My stepbrother installs it and swears by it. Specifically he has it on his truck's windshield which he says helps alot (it's clear). My brother has it and swears by it too. Nanoceramic variant? I'm skeptical, but haven't rode with them enough to tell.

Well, I think it's clear. It might have a light tint on it. I know he was telling me it's not legal in Texas but it is very hard to tell (as we looked at it).
I have it on mine - not sure if I see a difference but got a rock to the windshield (1/2 inch) and I believe that is keeping it from replacing it fully. So I think it’s a win win.

Absolutely. I had 70% on my windshield, but decided to favor night drive visibility over cooling when I replaced the windshield. My from windows got 50% and the rear 3 got 10%. Best investment if you live in a sunny climate (SoCal here).

I’ve got 70% Xpel XR Plus on my windshield and no issues with being too dark at night. In TX I don’t believe it is technically legal but it’s what shops seem to stock and I doubt a cop would ever call it out.

Thanks, I live in California. Tinting is not allowed in most cases. So, I know I'll be breaking rules. I'm not looking to be conspicuous, just want less heat. Thanks for the replies.

Back in the 80's my family lived in Saudi and we were "outside the fence" going to a softball tournament my dad was in. We were driving our Mazda 3 with the lightest tint possible down a lonely desert highway, just us and the crabby desert drifts on the road.

In the fence line of our expat camp, you were fine with very light tint. But! We found out outside the fence line, you could get pulled over on the side of the desert, two machine-gun armed soldiers/police (?) with mirrored Ray Bans walk up, get us all out, then they used a huge Bowie knife to scrape off "all" of that tint. Thank you very much, sir, you can be on your way!!

Texas is a little more relaxed, thank god, but that one guy in the lifted Ram crew cab playing copper on 380 you might wanna steer around... Civil forfeiture and all. lol

Your windows without tint are already at 70% (you can see it on the little writing on the bottom left of your front windows "Transp. 70% min") so adding it to the front windows and windshield won't make it look any darker. Most people who get 50% tint say it doesn't even look tinted so with 70% you'll be fine as that's the most your front windows can get tinted legally in this state.

Thanks for the reply. I have every window scheduled next week.
