Mine JUST started to have this issue, among others.

6,000 miles and suddenly the engine rough idles, and makes a lot of sound that it didn’t previously.
Soft top? SQUEAKS. How?
Steering wheel crack has formed (many have mentioned this prior)

When you say noticeable I'm wondering how much.

Me as a car person can perceive it and notice it on mine. If I wasn't actively trying to feel it, i'd probably not be able to. My wife doesn't

I haven’t noticed this on the Bronco, but I’ve previously owned a Tahoe and suburban that did it. About every couple minutes when idling, I could feel a light shake for a bit and then it’d go away. This was accompanied by the RPMs going up a bit on their own. I chalked it up to various electronics pulling from the system and needing more juice. I never got it checked and it never caused a problem over 15 years.

Mine has done it also since day 1 idling parked. 3000 miles now and no issues. Feels just like a rough idle on a classic car. But I really dont think it is nothing to worry about.

How would the soft top not squeak? It probably has 40+ parts to it, with dozens of fasteners and screws and you move it up and down routinely.

Interesting. We have the 2.7 in our F150 and Edge ST. I never experienced any type of shake or rough idle but we also turn the auto start off when we drive them. You can feel the engine shut off and restart with auto start on. It’s annoying to me. I plan to disable it in the Bronco.

I would start with reporting it to the dealer. More reports to the dealer and ford will hear about it.
My WAG is it is some sort of emissions strategy in the engine control system. The 2.7 has fuel injectors in the cylinders (direct injection) and in the intake runners (to reduce build-up) and at low rpm and load the need for fuel is super low and possibly difficult for the injectors to produce, so they do some sort of injection shut down round-robin strategy to reduce emissions from an over rich idle. It may have been designed to not be noticed, but some specific thing is happening for some that allow it to be noticed or amplified.

For those that experience the issue how high up are you, what's your altitude, as that can play a role in idle issues?

Interesting. Can't say I've been in a wrangler where the soft top didn't rattle or squeak. Of all the parts that could make noise, I find the soft top to be the one that would get a pass on so noise.

I’ve noticed this. It’s definitely some sort of cylinder deactivation or emissions mode. It does a low idle (between 500-700) and it’s just such a low RPM it isn’t as balanced.
