Door entry code

I bought my 22 used a few months back. The door entry code I got (which worked then) does not work now.
I haven't used it since I tested it then. But tonite I needed it and no joy.
What should I do now?

2. Google how to change the battery.
3. Use the phone app.
4. Go to the dealer.

Note that I’m not inclined to give cheat codes to thieves.

Why did you need it? What happened to the key blade that's part of your key fob? It will open the driver's door.

I don’t think you can change the battery. They are meant to just be replaced and have the Bronco reprogrammed for the new keypad

Most of the stick-on ones are replaceable. Been a long time since I’ve changed the battery in one, so I’m not sure if that’s still a possibility. But I would guess it is.

Ya i was told that by svc advisor, but I saw a vid awhile back on how to change the battery. I can’t remember but maybe he kinda used some DIY ingenuity …….it looked like same pad but was on expedition if I remember right. My bad

Well, if it's a Soft-Top, you can simply reach into the huge gap between the top of the door and (so called) roof-line and just unlock the door.

Serves you right; its warm enough - you should be driving doorless by now.

Super Dave and Greg2060. Actual thieves are likely smarter than you and now that these are nearing 5 years since release, they know everything they need without coming to an owners forum.

Everybody else. Sometimes I'm out in the shop and my keys are in the house etc..
I kinda think this is why Ford included it on the ole girl in the first place.
Altho, if a guy were to purchase another key fob, remove the battery so Bronco couldnt detect it, and hide it inside the vehicle, that could be a life saver someday.

Absolutely wrong. The keypads and the Broncos are just stickers and it’s a CR button battery. They can easily be replaced.

I often put my key fob and phone in a Faraday case and lock the entire thing in my Bronco. I don't like carrying my key fob or phone while kayaking, wake boarding, snowboarding or backpacking. That's why we have the key pad.

There are times when the fob is not with me, yet I need an item from the buggy.
I thought this was a pretty straight forward concept. Am I missing something here? Why else would Ford put these on the vehicles?

@Valhalla War Machine you’re absolutely right! Thieves are smarter than me (I‘ve worked for years in computer security - the threat is real.).

I don’t question your use case at all. We have used such keypads for 20+ years and there are many great scenarios where they are great!

You might be onto something with the hidden key idea. Add a faraday bag to that, then test it.
