Same thing happened to me. It messed with the parking brake engagement which I thought was weird. I thought I could replicate it by putting the Bronco in R while not wearing a seatbelt thinking maybe it was some weird safety feature but it was inconsistent.

For me, the brake engages and an error for Hill Assist popped up. I'm in FL, there are no hills.
Good morning, Jorge! Could you please send us a private message with your VIN and dealership information? I would like to look into these brake engagement concerns for you on my end. Thanks!

Just thinking electronically, maybe you are getting a good ground with the door on. Check you fuse box connections and grounds?

@Razorback - out of curiosity, did you try buckling the seat belts before starting up the vehicle?

Yeah, never happened when the seat belts were buckled. That's why I assumed it was some safety feature thing but all warnings are unrelated.

On another note, I mentioned to the Ford rep that it only happened when I had all four doors off and not when I only removed the front.

Hey all, just wanted to update everyone on the Ford contact. Basically they just wanted to schedule an appointment with the local dealer so nothing special. I said I would get to it when I bring it in for my oil change. I have a list of other things to fix too.

@jorgem31 did Ford ever confirm a solution? Was it just being buckled in before starting or something else? Scanned a few different threads on this and haven't seen a clear consensus besides possibly being buckled in before start. Will be taking my doors off for the first time here soon and just curious. Thanks!

I unplugged the doors and a few times it does seem using seatbelt first helps. Didn't throw a bunch of errors or engage parking break. Still get the weird "passenger door open" or something to that effect. The alarm company went ahead and pulled the motion/proximity sensor out since all sensors run through the door. Only alarm option currently is a completely self sustained alarm with it's own sensors when doors are off. the only draw back is you have to use a 2nd key fob from alarm company and it doesn't connect with Ford Pass....

No. When I finally got in touch with them they were simply offering to schedule service with my local dealer. I asked what the difference was in just doing that myself and she said just that they would track it. I have a short list of things I will raise under warranty once I take mine in for it's first oil change.

Personally I found buckling in before starting the rig avoided most of the warnings. You still get the door connection one.
