Driver airbag cracking

I could swear I saw a thread about this but I can't find it now. Or maybe it was on Zuckbook. At any rate I've seen a picture of an airbag cover cracked completely open around the horse. I noticed today mine is starting to split.

Dang are you hard in the horn? I’m baffled as to why we got a cheap plastic cover anyways. There are much nicer materials that could have been used.

I can honestly say I've used it just once in 2300 miles and 8 weeks, and that was only from bumping it while installing my dash USB port.

It’s a touchy sob isn’t it lol. Doesn’t take much force to set it off!!

They don’t want you pushing on it too hard…….for obvious reasons More dumb stuff. I remember seeing that original thread and thought maybe it had been improved by now. @Tricky Dick Sorry to see that happening already.

Bummer. I remember that thread on here in like December or so. It was due to sub freezing temperatures I recall in that case.

Maybe it's not cracking....it's hatching. That's where Bronco Sports come from.

Well my airbag HAS been around since last summer even though I've only had it 2 months, so if there was a revision to fix the cracking I probably missed out.

I'm going to let it get worse before taking it in.

Mine has been a little worse than this since the day I picked it up in December. Although admittedly I did not see it until I was driving it home. It is on my list of things to address with the dealership.

Just noticed the same thing on my work truck which is a 2019 F150. Apparently Ford can't figure out plastic.
