Location checks out!

Didn't NC outlaw the Carolina Squat though? I know here in SC it was on the books to get voted on and at least here on the coast it wasn't too big of a fad.
It is "officially/on paper" but I still see it pretty regularly. Not sure how much it's actually reinforced.

In my neck of the woods it's referred to as "the Palatka lean". These trucks are always accompanied with straight pipes and cursive script last names on the back glass. High schoolers for the most part. Look's stupid and sounds awful.

In my day we raked forward with small tires up front and larger tires in the rear. I'm sure if there had been an Internet forum someone would have basically typed the same....

Had to look up SC, looks like it passed and goes into effect on 11/12/2023, they're giving the bro's 4 inches.

Well now they can boast they meet the criteria of having a world-average of 6".
*I'll be here all week.

I find the trucks and drivers both annoying, but I guess than now means I am officially an old man. I'll be yelling at clouds and giving them the Clint Eastwood face soon enough.
I'm sure this is the whole generational thing starting way back in the 50's when youngsters would hot rod the 30's and 40's cars up,
-60's with more of the same and lowriders beginning,
-70's with all of the glory the 70's era brought.
-Then the 80's with ridiculous mini trucks, lowering a perfectly good vehicle.
-90's..my era. For whatever reason we monochromed and pro-streeted everything from Vegas to 50's Buicks to S-10's. Paint that wasn't all one color for everything was 200 different colors.
-00's- I think this is the lost decade. Everything sucked then, even new stuff. At least manufacturers got the retro-bug going, which injected some much-needed passion back into new cars. No discernible fads. Even the teenagers hated their cars. Unless they were buying new GT's and Z28's with parents' money.
-o'teens-HP started creeping back into new cars again full steam. As far as fads-Were there any other than the birth of this diesel-squat?
-now in the roaring 20's 2.0 we have the legislative bodies trying to rid our lives of this scourge. But nothing is going to prevent the Whistlin' Diesel generation from rollin' coal every chance they get. With their IG name chrome decals, 12" diameter exhaust tips, and "rollin' on wides".

Every generation mostly hates what the upcoming one is doing with cars.
But this one? this squatted "dog trying to pass a peach pit" look? That's stupid.
Now get off my lawn, you rapscalions. You look sketch.

I never understood the rolling coal thing. Diesel fuel is meant to consumed by tugging heavy things up steep grades. At $5 a gallon, I'd rather pull a 5th wheel up to a camping spot in the pines than piss off some Prius driver.

Once you lift a 1 ton truck, you totally ruin the ability to tow. A big truck like that makes for a really crappy offroader due to it's size, weight and stiff suspension. My F-350 sucked off road. Can't tell you the number of 6+ inch lifted Superduties with $20k suspension setups I see around here with completely spotless underbellies. So now they have a truck that sucks at towing and never sees off road. I suppose the owners are compensating for something :)

I'd better go out and yell at some clouds now!

I see a lot of old lifted diesel trucks up here. Often time's driven by kids or inbreed hicks. None of them do that. They do 'roll coal' which is beyond stupid.

This trend makes absolutely no sense other than lemmings following a trend without logic but 'murica. It completely ruins the handling, performance, safety and if you want to count subjectivity, looks stupid.
