If you're like me and found the Ford OEM wireless charger to be absolutely useless, I thought I'd share my setup for you.

There's several 3rd party options for replacement wireless chargers but none that I've seen are Magsafe compatible. IMO this is essential if you're in a moving vehicle and much more effective than the anti-slip pad since you can dock it without taking your eyes off the road. Another positive is I get the OEM area back for storage.

Overall it was inexpensive and looks clean on the dash. The only potential downside is my current setup has the phone sitting at 45 degrees due to the limits of the ball articulation. If you use your phone screen during your drive, a true 90 degree mount might be better. I linked an inexpensive vertical one from Arkon. It was cheap enough that I ordered that too so see which one I like better.

How's the charging speed with this solution? Faster than the OEM wireless charger I would imagine, right?

I like the MagSafe mount that bolts to the nameplate.

That's the one I have as well from Course. I think it's the best solution too.

Me too. Love the location and ease of use.
For those interested, here's the link for the one we're talking about: Direct Fit Phone Mount - Ford Bronco 2021+ ā€“ CourseMS (coursemotorsports.com)

It also looks like they now have a magsafe charger that mounts to the grab handle: Direct Fit Phone Mount - Ford Bronco 2021+ ā€“ CourseMS (coursemotorsports.com)

I still like the nameplate mount better, as you can't really use the grab handle then with their other option......plus seems like there will be a bit more exposed cord run to the charger port.

I just used a tackform mount from the little accessory mount on the dash, along with a magsafe mount from Amazon that I used in my F-150. Ran the cable to the forward USB port and called it a day. Keeps it in my field of view while driving and isn't much of a reach from the steering wheel. Not the prettiest ever but works for my needs. Phone gets tossed on it every time I get in the truck anyways. No pictures, but happy to take some of anyone is curious.

I do need to disable the built in charger/firestarter at some point...

The CourseMS puck I used is 15W which is equal to the other aftermarket options Iā€™ve seen. I read somewhere here the Ford OEM one was 5W. Not sure if that was someone being dramatic, but I tend to believe it since it didnā€™t even offset my CarPlay use on road trips.

I saw the grab handle and nameplate options in my research. The reason I went up to the dash is with mine is I wanted all the wiring out of the OEM area and our phones are so damn big I thought itā€™d crowd the controls.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Would love to see pics if you have a different setup!

Here is what I run. I have a proclip USA mount for the dash and their wireless MagSafe holder for the phone. Very clean and fast to use. I had a different non magsafe mount from Belkin first but it didnā€™t offer a ledge to hold the bottom of the phone. I found my phone dropped off it a couple times with a hard bump. This is an off-road vehicle so bumps and bounces are a given. This one with the shelf should help with that. I have a mid package so no power connection up on top of the dash. I added a cigarette lighter socket behind the driverā€˜s side flip down panel with a dual usb-c adapter. That way I can power up the short cord MagSafe and run a second longer usb-c to lightning cord for my wife to use on the passenger side. I run it tucked under the center console and coming out along her seat so no exposed wires running. Better than running an adapter to the center console storage and having to avoid the cord.
