I’ve been buying and driver Raptors (4) since they were born - never any rebates offered. My most recent (2017) I managed a few k off because it was a dealer demo - they’ve always held great resale because of the rarity factor and I’ve always traded with decent equity - I expect the same from the Bronco ... and if not, who cares - I’ll still be driving a Bronco and that’s okay with me!!

The first release Bronco will be the first time you will be able to literally drive off the lot and Make money if you so choose. I bet I could easily sell my WT for what I paid for it and then some while people are waiting for dealers to get inventory.
I don't know how it is in all states, but in calif I believe in order to sell a vehicle you first have to own it. In Cal that means sales tax and reg that could be close to 12% and 12% of $50K is 6K. The state wins with double the sales tax. Good luck.

There are only two players in the 4WD, manual transmission, Medium Utility game in North America. Wranglers hold their value very well, I expect Broncos will too.

I remember the 66 Bronco. It's value was lower due to the D30 and other options not offered the 1st year, but now it's a collector piece. So buy a 2021 and in 50 years it will be priceless. Building them at 5K a week once the initial flood is over they will be on the lots like Explorers and F150's. The day will come when you can order it and have it in 6 weeks below invoice.
in 50 years I’ll be dead, even with great medical attention along the way

im buying this Bronco and keeping it until it drops dead, or I do

I'm getting a pretty good deal through Granger, I'm pretty happy with that.

Edit: Not concerned about depreciation, I'll be keeping it as long as I can keep it running.

If you hold onto a fist year bronco for 25 years you will make money.

if you want to flip it in 3 years you are going to lose your a$$.

When figuring out future value, one thing you can look at is recent history of similar models (Wrangler, and to a lesser extent 4Runner, FJ, Tacoma, and Ranger). The segment Bronco is in is full of high residual vehicles.

One thing the author forgot: Rebates and discounts go hand in hand with depreciation. A vehicle with no incentives or discounts is usually a high demand vehicle, and that goes hand in hand with value retention.

One look at F-150 Raptor resale values will tell you that.

Well first year 2015 GT350 was $6000 less than the 2016/17

I fully expect to the 2022 Bronco to be at least $3000-$4000 higher
That had a lot to do with the Track Package becoming standard in 2017. 2016 Base was cheaper than a 2017 base. 2015 was as special edition only 137 cars. 50 Track pack, 50 Tech, 37 350R

It's not an investment so that's a bullshit argument.

Oh, and the plural of Bronco is Broncos.

All new vehicles, regardless of what they are, generally lose value once off the lot. And I stopped taking this article seriously after this part:

However, as we’re dealing with an unparalleled surplus of demand over supply, we’d be remiss not to mention that rebates and discounts will be non-existent for the foreseeable future.

There are more than a few dealers willing to make moves on the new Broncos.
