Removed rear seats, built deck, use foam garage mats and let my 70lbs English Bulldog have the entire back to move around.

Thinking about doing a rear-seat-delete too, would love a little virtual tour of your set-up. Looks bad ass in this little glimpse.

The best way to show your family member love - is to have them in a CRATE in the back.

I havent seen any good grates yet to divide the cargo area and the rear seats, but its an option if it comes out.

If you get in an accident and they are not in a crate, they can get injured or worse and also kill you. Then you cant give them treats anymore.

Wouldn’t they still smash/ fly around the crate and be injured?

A harness and seatbelt seems slightly safer

I get your point, I feel the opposite.

I think a body harness might let the dog slip out and would have to be so tight the dog would not be able to move. a harness doesnt tighten up and lock in place like a seatbelt. The teather stays loose and has a length of lead the dog would fly all over banging into stuff, or slip out.

In a crate, yea they might hit the sides but theres not a ton of inerta becasue its relatively small space + there is no chance to slip out and fly around the cabin.

I wonder why Ford hasn’t offered a factory rear seat delete option for the two door.

Also those plastic buckles, and even cheap metal dog leash snaps can break if the vehicle takes a tumble. I've seen quite a few posts on facebook after an accident in the mountains and a dog was ejected and ran away. The crate is definitely the safest option. I have two Impact crates for my dogs. They can still get injured, but wont get thrown out a window, or injured and run away into the night. Obviously I don't want to get into an accident, but I'd rather my animals get tumbled in a crate and still be there so I can go to a vet after the dust settles if needed. Dogs are also pretty darn tough to a degree, I think their chances are much better in a crate than out a window on the road.

I have not received my 2 door bronco yet, its a week out. And I have been doing a lot of measuring for crates. In my 350 and expedition we use ruff land (XL's) and they fit well and are easy to secure. You can custom order with a side door and put it in sideways.
I know I can get one crate in it, I am hoping I can come up with accommodations for two.
My dogs always ride crated.

I have a cargo mat and the covers for the back of the seats that give him a comfortable way to steady himself.

And he looks happy too!

I only transport mine in crates that I secure in the vehicle. Makes it easier for us all.

Have you found any two dog crates yet for the 2 door bronco? I travel with two GSD's. And they always ride in separate crates.
