Do yourself a favor and get a set of aftermarket lugnuts that are built as one piece. The ford performance nuts are 2 piece and will eventually be problematic. You can find a set of 24 for around $20 on Amazon.

A good quality 1 piece is a good investment for sure. Had an issue with the two piece on the f150 and took hours to remove. They have a special socket to get off the two piece if the outer metal cover comes off. Would have been nice to have…just don’t understand why Ford uses a 2 piece.

The problem with the black lug nuts off eBay/Amazon is that the black paint chips really easy. I've looked for one's that are not painted but blackened by another process like black chrome but no luck. I've even tried ones that say they are powder coated, but they also chipped.

Agreed!

They have titanium ones that come with PVD coating. Of course titanium won't rust but very expensive. I have been thinking about this

I have these also, but still if your not careful they chip. I've found that if you wrap aluminum foil around the nuts or line the lug wrench with foil it helps with the chipping, but it still happens.

Thankfully I haven't had that issue (yet). Thanks for info.

Of all of the coatings, PVD and DLC are the best. They cost more,… but they’re the best. Both are an order of magnitude stronger than even cerakote. Don’t even waste your time with painted/powder coated/or any other coating. They’ll chip, the metal substrate (likely cheap steel) with rust before your very eyes.

*As a side note, I sourced a new titanium vendor in the L.A. area that can supply me with titanium bar stock at considerably lower cost. Once we begin machining wheel hardware from this stock, they’re will be a substantial price adjustment to (lower $) our Ti wheel hardware.

Maybe it's just me, but I'd never use eBay or Amazon lug nuts to secure wheels to my vehicle. OEM or a well-established aftermarket vendor.
