@D2dhanover figured out how to unlock GOAT modes with Forscan. I tried it tonight on my Badlands and instant sport mode. Took less than 5 minutes. Went on a test drive and everything seems to work exactly as intended. Activates 4A, has the full graphics package, different transmission tuning, different steering feedback, changed throttle response. To those who bought a wildtrak over a badlands to get sport mode you may have been shortsighted. Fortunately itā€™s not too late to change for a lot of you. Donā€™t pick your model based on GOAT modes. The true test will be for someone with a base to try. Or say someone with an OBX to try rock crawl.

There are unknowns with this Forscan change: 1) will it create errors when choosing a new mode? 2) will it void the warranty? Is this worth the risk when there is the Bronco glitch, the 2.7 engine issues...where this can either contribute to the controlling system malfunctioning or get discovered in the shop and create a dispute over the warranty. I think what is most valuable is questions/pressure for Ford like: 1) Why are you removing Sport mode when it can be turned on with a simple code change? 2) If you are buying Sasquatch why are you not include GOAT modes like Baja or Mud and Ruts when it can be turned on by code - adding sas does mean wiring and controller changes.

Never affected my f150 warranty and I changed 7-8 different things day 1 after picking up the truck. Did something similar to my wife's grand Cherokee and no issues there either with the warranty over the 3yrs/36k miles.

So I'm an old guy and all of this sounds very scry to me...but I would really like to have all of the GOAT modes on my Base Squatch, hopefully I can find someone to walk me through this

Coming from the BMW platform tuning out features like amber turn signals off, blinker time before it turns off, active sound delete, m performance logo on dash, and brake tail lights flash on hard braking were all features I absolutely loved having more then most mods. Let the tuning options begin on the Bronco!! šŸ„³

I say streetable because Baja holds out the gearing intentionally longer. As far as the obvious, because it converts to off-road mode. As a calibrations engineer thatā€™s worked on this very vehicle I can firmly state Sport mode is a much better choice for driving on the road

It shouldnā€™t affect anything and work. I wish I had a model of each to test myself but unfortunately thatā€™s the limitation of ForScan mods
I have a WT and a FE. The WT in sport is definitely different then the FE in Baja and 2H. No comparison.

And say goodbye to your warranty. If I want ā€œsportā€ I just swap to baja, and turn back to 2H. Cannot void my warrant for using modes that came with the vehicle.

Btw, Baja goes to 4H not 4A.
With fords current quality control issues whoā€™s to say they didnā€™t install this program on all models šŸ˜

This all sounds very interesting. I'm not ready to hack the interface quite yet, unless someone can get me front differential lock with a software update. Then I'll hack away...

Woo, this is fun. I just learned how to use ForSCAN on my Police Interceptor Utility to change a slew of things. I don't think adding a GOAT mode would void any warranty, they'd have to prove it caused any damage, but I get that someone wouldn't want to gamble with their $50k brand new vehicle. I might poke around once I've had it for a few months, make sure nothing goes wrong first.

Awesome! I know what I will be doing when I get home. Stupid that Sport was missing from Badlands.

I fixed it. Been on YouTube for year but rarely upload. I was confused thinking it meant ā€œis this safe for kidsā€ sure why not.

also, I asked my dealer about doing this and he said essentially not an issue and he would go to bat for me if there were any issues. Just like dealer markups, your relationship probably makes a big difference in situations like this. If your dealer decides to void your warranty like that gladiator owner who went mudding youā€™re SOL. For what itā€™s worth I didnā€™t have any DTCs logged after I made the change. Drove with it on all day today and completely normal functioning.

edit: to those comparing this to tuning the engine. Nothing is changed in the PCM. Itā€™s only done via the ABS module. This does not change your engine parameters.

Hereā€™s the story of the warranty being voided after going thru a mud puddle:
