Do the dealers have any limit to their demands?
They tried to screw the OP by adding 5k, and many would have paid it.
But what if they demanded 50k over just to get rid of the OP's and his order?
Now they can sell it for whatever they want.
Ford corporate has no say in this type of crap?

Overall, it's fine, I put in an order at Granger. I don't NEED a car and refuse to pay a steep premium for a mass produced vehicle. I did a soft top build, so probably just another 6 month wait and Granger is genuinely nice, honest and helpful. The sales tax savings alone will pay for my fly and drive back to California.

Anyone have their order with Livermore Ford?
My dealings with them have always been better than some other local Ford dealers, so that's why I chose them.

They usually respond to my emails, not that they have any more info than the folks here do.
My dirt mountain build will probably be sitting for a couple more months of course.

Livermore Ford has a OBX with $30k ADM, When they told my son and I we both got out of the bronco laughing and walked out the door

I wasn’t clear earlier, saving 10% sales tax on the difference between $5k ADM and Grangers $1k below invoice is substantial.

Theres no sales tax savings. You have to pay California taxes when you go to register it.

The sales tax savings is the difference in sales price. The cost of registration is also lower as that is mostly based on the sales price.

No, this is partly my fault, I was quoted MSRP when I placed the order but nothing binding.

Its not a huge deal, I think they will have a harder time than they think moving a manual for $30k ADM and I’ll just wait for an order with granger at 1k under invoice. A non-sasquatch soft top isn’t exactly rare or commodity constrained.

If you had a written quote that the dealer later refused to honor, file a complaint with the Calif Dept of Consumer Affairs and the DMV (as they regulate auto dealers)

If you already ordered, not much you can do. I made a new reservation at Granger, but the reservation system is closed now

I think the auto market will slow down in September so it’s possible there might be a pullback, but if these guys manage to get $30k ADM, the market is truly on fire and probably won’t get better soon.
