I already have obd mx+ which to my understanding works with forscan.
the only reason for me to buy this module is to use with frds.
so just to understand better the only reason to buy frds is to do software updates instead of going to the local ford shop?
Or to install non-standard parts.

since getting the ota update carplay and nav maps have been really buggy. Just got another update last night that hopefully remedies some of the odd behavior. The update description is that it makes it easier to update without reference to any bug fixes. Guess it's time for a drive to see if my phone connects. It's update pu0925-haz-flh. Sorry if this has already been posted, didn't see it.

Has anyone else *still* not gotten the update?
I got the 2.3.2 update on 2/22 and the 3.5.2 update on Friday (3/10)….my screen was dead after the 3.5.2 update and I had to reset it (power/right seek hold). I am not sure it completed properly as the app still thinks I’m on 2.3.2…..hoping I’m not stuck in limbo.

Nothing. Still on 1.6.0.
Tried a full reset of sync per a suggestion from a friend that's a Ford service manger and still nothing.

Wow this thread is too long! I only can get full screen on navigation about a month or so ago I had full screen on car play and everything else. It gave me little arrows in upper left hand corner to expand to full screen or move back to split screen. This lasted about 2 weeks and then it was gone and back to normal.

How can I get this full screen back?

The wireless Carplay is really bad on my bronco. It cuts off music all the time. They should work on fixing that as well.
I’m having the same problem and the dealer doesn’t have any solutions

Same here, and probably yes.
I had mine at the dealer yesterday. My friend is a service manager there and said his guys couldn't find anything that would update and that it had the most recent version. It wasn't until I took him out to his F150 in the parking lot and compared the two side by side that he really understood. He took photos of the "about sync" screens on both vehicles and told me he would follow up with engineering to try to figure out the issue.

Lol — sounds about right. In fairness, I don’t know how TF the dealers could be expected to know *all* this specific shit. But it would sure be nice if *someone* did!

A dealer recently told me they had a WildTrak with “the big engine” available. Really?? “The big engine”?

I think the issues are mostly attributable to moving updates to OTA only. How hard would it be to have something like Sync 3's method still available? Plug in a USB drive, check to see if the version on the drive is newer than the installed version, click on install now.
