The soft tops look like trash. I'd be perfectly happy with a wired-for-hardtop unit shipped with a cheap bimini top at this point. Ship out the hardtop when it's ready.
I can't argue that. There's reasons why it's only around 10% of orders. It's not an option on 2dr, but if it was I would still rather wait as well.

Sitting in a house I had built right now. Yes, it took 11 months vs the 6 months I was originally told, but at least there was communication throughout the entire process and I could adjust my planning accordingly.
Let me drop this nugget on you. Didn’t Ford say they’d start shipping the Bronco in Spring of 2021?

Well, they made it happen with at least six days to spare.:)

The whole reservation thing is a complete turnoff for me, and not something I anticipated when Ford first indicated Bronco would be returning. And now that marketing/sales model has spread to F150 Lighting and Maverick?

If Ford's target customer is some cat reserving "his and her" Broncos a year out, then see you when I see you Ford. Although the kvetching when Broncos start appearing out of the desired reservation order might be worth it for the entertainment value. :)

At this point, mostly I'm looking forward to a subset of forum members getting a Bronco, and posting some off-road trips they take and how it performs on those trips. That will be fun to see.
You can blame Tesla for it.

They have tons of people putting down a heck of a lot more than $100 for a shot at getting the ugliest truck in the world. And if you think the Bronco has been delayed just look at Tesla’s record on communication and delivery.

The reality is that enough people are willing to wait for what they want and All the whining in the world isn’t going to change a thing.

In the same boat here. Medium dealer, I have no idea of their allocations and where I stand. I do not know anyone at the dealer so I am not a priority order and I assume I am at the absolute bottom of the list. Day 2 July 14 reservation and I have heard nothing other than the E Mails from Ford regarding the delays. Assuming it will in 2022 now. Based on this experience I will never place a reservation for a vehicle again. It's the same ole pretty much who you know......

I hear your frustration. But how else would they do a custom order vehicle with high demanding, if not for a reservation system?
Homebuilder, " You can move in next month if I throw a tarp over your roof. I'm out of shingles."
Lol, now that's good

My first car was a 1965 Ford Mustang. I heard it was mildly popular when introduced. :) Did Ford issue reservations in 1963 a year out?

I've owned open top Jeeps for decades. Jeep sold 240,000+ Wranglers in 2018 when the redesigned JL was introduced. I don't recall many Jeep guys sitting around waiting, because some dude reserved "his and her" Wranglers over a year out.

Situation is what it is. Ford has their sales/marketing strategy and target customer. Clearly right now, I'm not the target customer.

I don't care when the First Guy is getting his Bronco. I just care when I'm getting mine. A ballpark date range would be fine. "Sometime within the next year" is not ballpark.

That was 1965. We didn't even have the internet then lol

Also thi is a brand new vehicle. The jeep has had as you said decades to perfect their supply chain. The Bronco, while based on the Ranger uses dozens of unique parts

Not trying to defend this crazy launch but I really can't see another way to offer consumers their custom Bronco with limited supply

With all due respect, i'm not sure what kind of customer you would be given that the realities of the world at this moment are entirely lost on you.

FWIW: i've got a good idea what kind of customer you are if you're anything like my customers who similarly have blinders on.

Next time a customer yells at me because the IRS still hasn't processed their 2019 tax return that was filed about 2 years ago after they insisted on paper-filing, i'll think of this post.

How easily do you think your huffing and puffing would change the IRS? Well that is about the same amount of leverage you have on globally sourced JIT assembly line manufacturing here in 2021.

Lastly, Ford had a reservation process established in 1955 when my grand parents purchased their Thunderbird (family rumor is theirs was built in the first month of manufacturing). They also had a reservation process for the new-for-1961 Thunderbird. I still have the framed letter from Lee Iacocca's desk, signed by him, thanking them for their switch to the new model as the family had expanded.

Why didn't you use the reservation process for your Mustang?

There's a sucker born every minute? The Bronco reservation scheme is about sales/marketing strategy as much as anything else. But wait, there's more. Reserve your F150 Lightning and Maverick. Hurry, before it's too late! ;)

And yes there is a lot of huffing/puffing, but it's all the arguing and kvetching from reservation holders about who's ahead in line, which dealer is supposedly jumping "the line", who deserves their extra reservations, and all that jazz. Just wait for some guy to get hold of a Bronco out of the perceived pecking order, that will be fun.

Call 1-800-334-4375, wait a few minutes to chat with someone and have your name, email, and order # (should have been provided by your dealer) ready and they'll be able to tell you any relevant info.
I finally did this. The "relevant info" Ford was able to provide me was absolutely zero info at all. Still no idea where I am in the queue, no clue if I'll be getting a '21 or '22, no clue if I'll be getting it in calendar year 2021 or 2022 (2023...). "Wait for your email" is all they could tell me.

Ugh.
