I have a 23’ heritage with 2.7l and just hit 1800 miles. I decided to change oil and there was quite a bit of gold glitter in the oil. The filter was surprisingly debris free.

I called dealer and they responded by saying it’s the rings seating and should be clear of anymore glitter in next oil change or 2. - Seems acceptable.

I saved 2 quarts or used oil and filter with date and mileage.

I am still a bit nervous. Anyone else experience this?

Gold or silver?? I would think beating and ring material would be silver/gray but maybe there’s some gold colored stuff. Cost of these things we should “get some gold” … lol

Did you accidentally order the special unicorn edition? But, in all seriousness, that would be worth a visit to the dealer.

I had my oil tested on my 2.7l at 1200 miles. It had brass/bronze and silicone in the oil per the analysis from Blackstone (attached). They say that is fairly normal for new engines.

Should be ok. Keep an eye on it next change.

Make sure you use oil that meets the Ford spec.

I would say pretty normal for a new engine.. Just change the oil again around another 2000 miles and see if it’s cleared up some.

Yes. My first oils change had the same thing. That’s why it’s important to change that oil pretty soon after you get it. I haven’t seen any since. I change my own oil every 5k now

Yep, send some to Blackstone and then on your next change. Always done a change 850-1000 miles into a new car.

Maybe this is a sort of Ford rebate. Sell that to offset the dealer ADM 😂
