I just brought my 22 2.7 in for oil change and dealer insists it’s 6 quarts.

see attached picture of what they gave me they went by.

I’m confused and thought it was 7 and the user guide says 7 quarts.

I really don’t want my ride messed up.

Can it really change from 21 to 22? This is so messed up….

please help

I want to say there are technical bulletins you can point them to that clarify this. Hopefully someone else can help you with links.

Check your dipstick. A quart low isn't the end of the world, but i wouldn't drive further than the closest place to get oil either if the dipstick reads low.

I wonder how old the spec sheet is, and you'll want the newer dipstick, too.

LMAO you really expect a service department is going to go off of a thread online?
Highly unlikely.....but I showed my dealer the entire "6 or 7 quart fiasco" thread......made them look into it at least...

They are just dudes...some really care, some are there just punching the clock.

Guys I went to different dealer.

I am really confused is it 6 or 7 quarts?

I did have parts order me the right dipstick. I just want the right amount of oil.

Please help.

Is the final answer 6 or 7 quarts for the 2.7?

The correct answer is 7 quarts. Ford even quietly redesigned the oil dipstick to reflect the correct fill capacity, which was always accurate in the Owners Manual, but the change is still working its way slowly through the system. The new dipstick should have a triangle symbol at the top of the handle.

Just add another quart yourself. That is one of the easiest DIY projects that an owner can do, and it should become part of your routine oil monitoring as an owner.

Does anyone have the part # handy for the new dipstick? Mine is a 2021 2.7L if that matters. My dealer put in 6 quarts on my first service as well.
