Curious how you got the Cat 5 from the radio body to the head? I just installed a BulletPoint dash mounting system for my Garmin and phone, and I am now thinking of putting my Icom radio head there as well. Any tips on how you ran the Cat 5?
I removed the left grab handle and ran the cable up and through there.

Finally got around to posting some pics of my radio install. I already posted previously on my antenna setup. I used a RAM short arm on a Builtright molle dash mount. I also mounted an external speaker pointed up and the sound reflects nicely off the windshield. The Escort radar detector mounts on the panel as well. I ran a Cat6 bulkhead connector and a couple of M12 connectors thru the dash top plate. The Cat6 is for the radio head. The two M12s are for the external speaker and the other has both switched (radar detector) and unswitched 12vdc. It is all very low profile and does not block any of my vision. I'm really pleased with how it turned out. Bouncing around on the trail at Super Cel East showed it to be very sturdy. Incidentally, I put weatherpack connectors on the underside of the bulkhead connectors so I can unplug and remove the dash top plate easily. The mic cord passes between the steering column and the trim panel under it.

No, the unit is below the steering wheel behind the cover so I can hear it well.

That looks really good!! I also ended up mounting my radio head on a dash top molle panel made by bulletpoint. It works well there and was easier than trying to mount the head on trim below the Aux switches, where I originally wanted to put it. Thanks for sharing, you did a nice clean job!!
