Had a wrangler, traded it in for the bronco. My honest opinion…I love the wrangler. I wasnt worried about it falling apart, leaks in the roof, windows making noise…yes its not a BMW but the thing was built correctly and I used to dog the $h!t out of that thing on the trails. It never once gave me a single issue or check engine light. There are times where I regret trading it in for the bronco…but at the same time that sentiment is only because I am so scared about what the bronco will do next. Im constantly checking for roof leaks, constantly checking for weird engine sounds, constantly checking for engine leaks, constantly checking for suspension leaks…I never did any of that with the wrangler, ever. Yes the bronco is great but I would be lieing if I said that it gives me more peace of mind. It 100% does not. I will also say that I thank my stars that my bronco has been perfect so far with no issues. But reading through the forum has me constantly checking for issues. I was also on the wrangler forums allot and it wasnt like this bronco forum where its issue after issue after issue. Also the entire dealer thing. Jeep does a much better job then ford, hands down. I dont trust ford dealers one bit. All scum bag low life scam artists. Not a single one out there actually want to help you. I hope that ford goes 100% direct.

The dealer scammed you man. One thing I learned with ford is that the dealerships are there to harm you not help you. They dont care about ford and they dont care about you. They care about making the most money even when its going to hurt you. If i had to bet, your dealership is playing games with you and screwed you over. They stole your order.

Ford tried to launch the Bronco like Tesla business model with a direct relationship with customers.
No they didn't. They specifically stayed with a reservation/order system through dealerships. You have to talk to a dealership to order the Bronco, and the dealership can play all of their normal games with ADM, pricing, messing up your order, forgetting about you, putting the wrong order in, surprising you with ADM later in hopes that you cancel your order and they get to keep your Bronco, etc. All of that is wholly within the existing manufacturer > dealership > consumer framework and looks nothing like the Tesla model.

Ford is trying to sell the Mach-E slightly differently where you can actually order online without having to deal with a clueless dealership salesman, but you still have to do the financial transaction through the dealership.

Still a far cry from Tesla's dealership-free experience.

Who was the reservation made with and where was it made?

What was the original commitment that Ford made on the sequence/priority that the Bronco would be built in back in 2020/2021?

Who was the reservation made with and where was it made?
A dealership. You clicked some buttons on Ford's website and then paid your deposit to a dealer, at which point your reservation was tied to that dealer.

You may be able to configure a Ford vehicle (the “Vehicle”) through the Reservation Process (“Reservation”). By completing the Reservation Process, you are not ordering or purchasing a vehicle. The Reservation Process allows you to configure a Vehicle and pay the Reservation Deposit (“Reservation Deposit”) to an authorized Ford or Lincoln dealer (collectively “Dealer”) you select.
....
You may cancel your Reservation at any time before you order your vehicle and request a refund from your Dealer
https://www.ford.com/help/terms/bronco-and-bronco-sport-reservation/

Ford:
Reservation with a dealership. Order through a dealership. Pay a dealership. Delivery through a dealership.

Tesla:
Order from Tesla. Pay Tesla. Tesla delivers the car to your door.

They have literally nothing in common. At no point did you have any sort of transaction with Ford directly.

What was the original commitment that Ford made on the sequence/priority that the Bronco would be built in back in 2020/2021?
Order of production has nothing to do with some kind of "Tesla sales model." It's another thing Ford severely messed up, but it's not really relevant to this train of thought.

If you still want a bronco after all that noise…forget your current dealer and try to buy from a reputable dealer which will likely mean going out of state (in most cases). Contact granger ford and put in a order with them. They wont mess with you. One of the inly few decent dealers left. Or buy off a lot and get it the same day. You can find decent deals out there. I would say forget this mess you have from 2021 because your going to keep going in circles. Ford has no control over anything (which is pathetic in my personal opinion). The dealership has 99% of the control and they will do everything they can to harm/lie to you. You have options, its not the end of the world.

Did you get the COVP info from the dealer to prove they actually did it? Bet they are the at fault party here no matter what they are saying.

UPDATE:
  • I got a call Thursday from a guy at Ford Motor Company who is the Sales & Inventory Specialist (fka Zone Manager)
  • He said he was personally overseeing resolving this debacle and coordinating with the dealership, field ops and production/plant.
  • He said that there was a glitch and my dealer did not and was not doing anything screwy. That the team there is top notch and professional and a great dealer.
  • He said he was personally coordinating everything today (Friday) to manually get my order back in the system and ensure that my “Private Offer Price Protection” was also manually fixed up.
  • I asked him about what my priority code/status would be since my original date stamp was my reservation date of 6/4/2021 and my order was set to Priority 10.
  • He said he was working with Field Ops / Plant to push my Bronco into production at a Priority Code 02
  • He gave me his personal cell phone number in case there are any issues or I need help
I have to say after hearing all the horror stories, I am pleasantly pleased and feeling pretty good about my dealer and Ford resolution.

Is there anything else I should be watching out for or asking about that I am missing?

Same exact thing happened to me 2wks ago. I was shocked/furious. Dealer said they did nothing and I believe they are in the clear. FORD glitch but dealer resolved my issue and found me another option. Bronco arrives in a week or 2 and optioned more than my original order over a year ago, so I'm very happy and reserved as I will believe it when it's IN MY HANDS. I do have a VIN however.

It sounds like they're really trying to make it right which is great. But after everything I and so many others went through, don't hold your breath till you have the thing in your driveway.

That's great! I was not clear on this ^^

You mean it showed up with more options that you originally ordered?

You said it was delivered in two weeks but haven't seen it - is it out of state so you just haven't traveled to pick it up?

I stand corrected. If this is all true and accurate then you are in great shape.
