I had my dealer do an oil and filter change a few weeks ago and afterwards noticed a small patch of fluid under the car. It was slick like motor oil but the position of the leak on my garage floor was further back than under the engine or under the drain plug. I got under the car and I think I identified the leak. Can someone tell me where this leak is and what kind of fluid it might be? Given that this appears to be spotting or weaping of fluid as opposed to a major leak, is this something I could wait until my next service or should this be corrected immediately? For what it's worth, the car appears to be driving normally with no weird sounds or other symptoms. Thanks for your help!

Transfer case output shaft pinion seal. It’s common and happened to me. Just some minor seeping and replaced under warranty. No issues since.
Yup, I had the same too. Took my dealer over a week to fix mine due to parts availability, but hopefully yours will be quicker.

I agree with the others - T-Case shaft seal leaking.

As far as urgency - you can still drive on it. There's about 1.5 qt (+/-) of oil in it (Mercon LV) - so you aren't in danger of running it low any time soon. If you totally ignore it eventually you will run low on fluid in there (not dry, the seal is up top above the fill port, but it flings oil up there while running), and your Tcase will start to whine/grind/make bad animal noises. Then you've went too long.

A few drips and you aren't in danger. The seal won't get any better, there's a small chance it could fail entirely, but unlikely.

Unless you notice it getting worse, or you see a big puddle of oil one day, you can probably wait a bit.

Thanks for the offer to help! I've got a great relationship with my local Ford dealer. I will send my tech photos and the comments and schedule a time for warranty repair. They are very responsive.
