@JGayler911 how are these Yakima crossbars attached? Did you have to drill into the top? I have a 4dr MIC top, but need crossbars only for my Yakima Kayak Lift Assist.

Yes, drilled through. I used tracks because I wanted the ability to move back and forth, or add additional towers/bars.

This is a trailblazer setup; when you have some time I think quite a few people would be interested in the details.

This is a great setup. What is the overall height to the top of the cross bars and to the top of the fatcats? (Is that a 2door w/ Sasquatch?) Will you share some photos of how you attached the tracks? Did you bolt it through the hard top?

Just assembled + installed the Buzzrack tonight. First impressions are good! Still can’t open the tailgate all the way, even with the 12-inch hitch extender, but at least it still opens to the first strut detent, which is enough for me. Overall I like the look and it seems like it’ll get the job done. However, I’m definitely going to get one of those wobble clamps from earlier comments. Ready to hit the slopes tomorrow!

That hitch rack looks great.

For years I drove around with my Thule hitch bike rack with 4 bikes watching it wobble back and forth in my rearview. I’m not sure if these clamps existed then but they are a game changer. Several options on Amazon - the one below is the expensive option:

Which Yakima landing pad number works for the Bronco hardtop?

yes, please post pics of tops and underside.... I have two tops and only use the hard top from November to April. Love to get this going with my low profile box.. Also, if you have part #s for specific items, would be helpful.
thanks!

I'm like many and bummed the Sasquatch / FE trims do not come with two important options, roof rack rails and tow package. I've always preferred roof mounted accessories for bikes and skis but here we are with no ETA on when we can order roof rails (thanks ford)

Hitch Solution
I was quoted $850 for OEM Factory installed receiver hitch w lights. Being that I'm NOT towing anything I didn't need the wire harness, just the hitch receiver so I opted for the after market version by Curt MFG #13493 for $150ish shipped pared with this installation video (I skipped the wire harness parts) it only took 30 minutes with the basic tools everyone should have. All this for $150, I was able to save a ton of money just to get a hitch for my purpose.

35" spare tire requires a 7" hitch extender which I got on amazon, to keep the rattle to a minimum I used an anti rattle bolt which I also got off amazon

Ski Rack by BuzzRack
I opted for the 6 ski rack by BuzzRack on amazon for $300 shipped, this installed with the hitch extender was a perfect fit. It sits snug to the 35" spare, the rack has a tilt feature which allows me to open the door about 12" which is just enough for quick access but not enough to be effective, still need to remove the rack completely if I want meaningful access to the rear door.

I wrote a complete review here on my blog for skiers with links to the products, more pictures and details on ski rack, bronco installation specifically if you're interested here https://skierblog.com/gear/best-hitch-mount-ski-rack-for-the-new-ford-bronco-2021/

I like the simplicity of a hitch mounted rack but, doesn't the road grime and salt ruin the skis? I would be worried about rust and stuff on the edges.

I like your solution! I considered it also. I went with a ski box setup instead because I knew I would break my skis went entering a low garage and I wanted to keep the skis clean.

I know it nearly doubles the cost of what you have but the Kuat Pivot V2 Driver Side Swing
should be in the Ford accessory catalog. It is the perfect length extender, fits under the spare tire, swings away to allow access to the back, and has a built in hitch stabilizer. It would work for you too.

Hey this is so smart! Dm'd you a question regarding this. Trying to understand how you mounted the box to the carrier itself.
