I purchased my Badlands in March. I love it.

I live in Southern Ohio and off-roading isn't really a thing here. I have 3 kids under five and am pressed for time, so now isn't really the time to pick up a new hobby regardless. We do have tough winters, so I am looking forward to using it for that.

I feel like I need to get more "out of it" though. What are some things you guys do or use your Bronco for that don't include off-roading? I love how capable and modular it is, but feel like im not taking full advantage.

It could be something as simple as cruising with the doors off on a Sunday drive or taking the top off to go to a drive in movie with the family. Just curious what I am missing out on!

Rides with the doors off are an absolute blast! Just leave ‘em off when the weather is nice and you’ll fall in love with it

Same goes for the roof, too, I just take the front and middle sections off, which leaves some shade for the dog in the back

The real attention grabber is no doors and no roof with your dog strapped in the back for a joy ride

For me, just taking a short ride in it brings me some happiness, but maybe I’m biased

We've only taken the front roof panels off once but went on a cruise to the beach when we were visiting my parents in FL. It was glorious.

You think you are pressed for time now, wait until those kids hit middle school and high school. You would never have guessed a calendar could get so full.

Find the time now to start taking the kids on Bronco adventures, whether it is cruising through a state park to go hiking, weekend camping trips, or just opening up the top for an ice cream cone run. Start building those hobbies and habits now because the eyeroll's and "do we have too" 's are just a few short years away.

Also, download an app such as AllTrails, OnX or the Bronco app. You may be surprised to find some off-road trails around you. Then pack up the fam, a lunch and some recovery gear and head out there.

I understand your use case, to get the most out of it
1) Make sure to never do a 3 point turn and just hop the curbs. I like doing that.
2)Never slow down for speed bumps, not sure if you have those in Southern Ohio
3)Drive through deep puddles that accumulate after rain.
4)Put stickers on it.
5)Spend money on various accessories, don't matter which, the key is to spend.
6)Wave to other Broncos.
7)Attend a local Bronco event.

As much as I want to say i'm a hardcore offroader, mine is essentially a school bus for my toddler boys. They love top off in the summer, and can already tell the difference between a bronco and a jeep. We have other cars, but they always ask 'can we talk the bronco'? when we're heading to the garage.

I took my top and door off last month, they won't go back on until next month maybe. I have a 2015 Escape for the rainy days. I use mine for things like pulling trees down that broke during a storm. I also have an Off Road park about an hour from me I plan on hitting pretty soon. If you have farm around, check with the farmer to see if they have some dirt roads you could play on.

Honestly if you are not off-roading, then you won't get as much out of the vehicle. (I'm stuck in that situation at the moment.) It's just the nature of the beast and the functionality you are not benefiting from through usage. But maybe try to take the top off more often at least?

I pull my 16ft jon boat with mine. It’s much easier to back down boat ramps with it than a crew cab, long bed pickup truck.

Find some dirt/gravel roads and cruise.
I just enjoy driving mine around so find some scenic roads or the mountains in your neighboring states.

I can't see the point of having my Bronco if I didn't take it off road. In general, I try to take it somewhere interesting every tank of gas. I think there were maybe two tanks during the past year that didn't include some sort of dirt road.

Gratuitous photo from last year headed down to the Owyhee River in Oregon:
