Reality, it’s ass.

everything is a trade off between cost, convenience, durability, and function... unfortunately all of those categories are in competition with one another rather than complementary..Your explanation of having only horizontal tension makes sense. I’m sure it was a calculated trade off between ease of use and wrinkle free windows. I like the smooth window look of the Bestop, but I like the mechanics and use ability of the factory top more. The hard plastic window upgrade will be tempting if the market offers one, but as you pointed out these things need replacing every 5-7 years anyway. I’ll probably just live with it as-is until it’s time for that replacement. Appreciate the perspective coming from someone who’s actually lived with soft tops before on Jeeps. I’ve never had a convertible (same with a bunch of others here), and it shows.
It's freaking horrible! It looks like s**t! And not just the back window. The whole damn thing sags and looks like it was designed by a hobo.it's not a deal breaker I will certainly accept it, but not without a fight.
Psssst, can you keep a secret? Ford offers a hard top. It's freaking horrible! It looks like s**t! And not just the back window. The whole damn thing is wavy and looks like it was designed by a hobo.
Yeah, that thing is a piece of shit too.Psssst, can you keep a secret? Ford offers a hard top.
I never had a TJ Lord, I did have a CJ and a JK and had three soft tops in the process. None looked so loose fitting. I would get a hard top if it was available, but I'd rather eat in 2021 and not wait until 2022 or 2023.The side windows in a Jeep TJ are a miserable experience to remove and zip back in. Bronco got it right.
Anyone who doesn’t like the design and wants glass should get a hard top. Otherwise it’s like ordering a burrito and complaining it doesn’t look like a hoagie.
Functionality is one thing, but if you think pictures 2 and 3 look good, then I've got some really nice Christmas sweaters to sell you.I actually LIKE how the soft windows look. I wonder if the owners of these baller-ass Broncs ever bitch about the window “fitment.” It’s GD plastic.
if the hard top back glass was removable or if it would go down into the tailgate I would get one but for now I will drive it like a convertible, even on the highway. Until the aftermarket can catch up with something new.Psssst, can you keep a secret? Ford offers a hard top.
I don’t expect a tent to look like a house.Functionality is one thing, but if you think picture 2 and 3 look good, then I've got some really nice Christmas sweaters to sell you.
Ford won't let me into my house until 2023.I don’t expect a tent to look like a house.
