Just got my Badlands with High package today and there's no rectangular cutout in the base, it's molded in once piece :(

Interested in the harness adapter- wondering if there is a way to add a connected port to the stereo head unit in the dash since I mount my phone up top.
Potentially by using a hub or some kind of piggyback harness and tying into the connected-console port but I don’t know if it would work that way

Love this thread. Still checking back for other innovations. Loathe how the factor wireless charger bakes my phone and nets zero charging.

I just finished this on my 7MT black diamond and the process was virtually identical for anyone wondering. I used the 4D harness and the following charger from Cool Gear:

https://www.coolgear.com/product/chargeit-100-watt-usb-type-c-charger

For the charging panel itself, I 3D printed the model that @KurtHu made, but I had to scale it up in all dimensions by 2%. Since I didn’t have wireless charging already, I didn’t have the metal bracket so I fashioned my own out of some scrap aluminum. Finally, I covered it in a matte 3M vinyl wrap. The end result:

I bought all of the items from your original post since i want to have the magnetic hold with a magsafe charger. Do I need to remove any pieces other than the main center console piece where the cup holders and shifter are? Am i able to access the power ports from there to install that wiring harness you linked to? Or do i need to remove more of the panelling behind the main piece? Thanks for any input you can provide.

You will need to remove the back side of the console too so that you can tap into the 12v console power connector

Did the install over the weekend. Thanks for all of the pictures, videos and tips, especially from the original poster. Love that I can just throw my phone down in the cubby and it is grabbed by the charger and doesn't move. Just waiting on the charger skin to arrive so it matches the color of the trim.

I originally had the OEM, which had difficulty finding the right spot to "Charge' and even the Mabett one which doesnt seem to charge at all, delivering ~1.5W and barely moving the charge upwards if at all. When using the apple magsafe charger in the 3D printed base, does the phone actually charge quickly? are there heat issues?

Mine charges fast, no heat issues except once, roof down and the sun was hitting my phone. Today I covered the phone, to protect from the sun and no issues.
