Interesting thread here with kit developed primarily for rock crawling.
Doesn't seem to solve the really long travel issue, but has interesting concepts for
ground clearance and maintaining camber over more of the suspension travel.
Seems to more or less use stock frame points as a beginning.

Cost is "more than typical long travel kit", so I'm going to say
4 grand for suspension pieces (based on this current kit of 3 grand)

https://dirtkingfabrication.com/collections/tacoma/products/long-travel-kit

Claims still need HD CV shafts for 2 grand and coilovers for $1600.
Also something about a new rack, but not that many details on price.

This has been in development for a long time. The kit seems to have a lot of good thinking behind it.

So, in order to get 13.5" tvl and run 35s...You've got to drop nearly another 10k in upgrades?

I have no interest in high speed desert running, but can use long travel and run larger tires....so I'll stick with my SFA preference.

but it does look pretty solid. and to make a Taco or 4runner keep up with a raptor it could do the trick.

Makes an axle swap look appealing.

I only put it out there to show that Ford could do some other things with IFS to try to help crawlers, if they were so inclined.
I don't think too many would spend all that coin on their own, when you can go used 1 tons for most likely much less.
