I’ve notice that on most Bronco models, Ford has an “Intelligent Access with Push-Button Start“ option ( usually in Mid package). I looked into it further and it’s something that is standard on most modern cars (odd it’s an option). It allows you to keep the key fob in your pocket to open and lock doors.

Ford explains it in detail here:

So, unless you get this option, you will need to press the key fob to lock and unlock the doors.

I have 3 non Ford autos with “un”intelligent access. Half the time I’m having to use my keys to get in. Although Ford keyless works pretty well.

I had an “intelligent access” car and then I didn’t — and I’ve never regretted something so much on a car in my life.
It is ESSENTIAL if u have kids or are bringing in the groceries, it’s just so dang easy to slip ur hand in the handle and it unlock

I could see that being a regret in that situation. I take it that your Bronco will have it, right?

On my current car (2014 fusion) I have it & LOVE it! The ability to lock & unlock my doors with a touch of the handle is really cool.
Push button start is standard on all Bronco trims. Intelligent access is optional.
Since I am getting the base trim I will not have an option for this, though I will survive somehow. I probably will get the key code access as a substitute.

it was an option for our volvo. we didn't get it. don't regret not getting it. although we wished we got parking sensors or 360 camera and a heated steering wheel for the -30c winters here.

I have the intelligent access on my 2014 Focus ST and it’s probably one of the most convenient things I’ve ever had in a car. My girlfriends 2016 GMC Terrain has an old style flip out key that you have to press the unlock button, then put it in the ignition and turn the key. I have come to be really annoyed by this. It’s such a small inconvenience but I forget every time I drive her car.

At first I thought you were referencing the 1980 US Olympic hockey team. Lol

Does the base fob have an unlock button like every other fob I’ve had? If so, I’ll do just fine.
