I like that the mirror in that picture on the JL is from a TJ... Nothing like bringing back 20 year old parts to fix the new model.

Chrysler likes using parts well past their expiration date. If you buy a brand new 2020 Dodge Journey today, 0 miles, your 3-row crossover comes with a NA 4cyl + 4-speed automatic.

Just look at the "top level" infotainment on my rental 2019 Grand Caravan. The instrument cluster looked like a Tamagachi.

I think all of that hardware adds to the rugged theme of that type of vehicle. I especially like that light pod bracket.

There's a bazillion aftermarket solutions from super slick to bare bones for this and now they come out with something haha. I'll stick with my cheapo motorcycle mirror in the door hinge.

It's a good move but I can't be the only one just a bit annoyed that it took a serious competitive threat to get them off their butts to finally address a flaw that many have wanted addressed for years.

While I feel similarly, that's our economy. And if something with little competition was making a company money why innovate or change a thing?
