Lets go topless! Bronco hard top lift

The main reason we got a Bronco was to enjoy it with the top off. However, what do you do with the hardtop in your garage? So I made a little lift. The middle roof section goes on top then the back gets lifted up. So far seems to work great and takes about five minutes to get the top off.

Disclaimer: no hardtops have been hurt in the creation of this project.

I've got a harken hoist. Actually 2 of them. One is for the weight of a jeep top and the heavier one for my roof top tent. I'm actually looking for some bracket hooks that can slide right into the 2 roof rack mount locations on each side. it would be so much easier to raise the roof by just tying into a hook and lifting it up. Any one seen any devices that could hook onto it? The roof rack has a slide hook that tightens up and holds on to it. If I can't find it, I'll have it fabricated.

I have to refine it a bit with distributing weight since the top is back heavy. But other than that, this setup works great.

The lift I bought was 2500 lbs from Traveler ($109). I hocked it up to a small battery ($49). I did bolt the which do the floor of the garage. This added way more strength than when I had it against the wall. I'll take a photo and send it.

What size straps are on the bottom? I'm looking to do a similar set with 10 foot straps and D ring connectors. Probably put D ring thru each other and simply attach to hoist hook. Not sure if 10 foot straps would be enough, or maybe 12 foot.

They are 10 feet. If you want a little more slack, 12 feet might be better. I don't have a high ceiling so I didn't want any sag when it was raised.
