Does anyone know of any long range fuel tanks for the Bronco? I added 37's and my MPG isn't quite what it used to be. I have rotopax now and it's a decent solution, but I prefer a tank that I don't have to stop driving and fill my tank up. Additionally, I prefer less overlanding stuff bolted all over the vehicle. Thanks!

From what I understand, there is no room for a bigger tank, unless you make it hang lower.
Most folks are not willing to trade the decreased ground clearance for increased range.

Less overlanding stuff... wants to go further without a gas station around... over... sea? Or is it to keep the empty racks all over for that MRAP look?

You got the wrong vehicle.

Remove muffler and mount mid-chassis. Plenty of room for an auxiliary tank in place of rear muffler. At the moment it would have to be custom - e.g., fuel cell.
Ya the rear muffler is big. I was thinking of inplace of it , getting a rear winch but an auxiliary fuel tank might be even more useful.

I disagree. A 21 gallon tank is insufficient for a 15 mpg vehicle. It should have been designed with a larger tank. It could have been done without compromising ground clearance. Don't get me wrong, I love my Braptor, but there are things that the FP engineers could have done better, some things that have been improved after-market but shouldn't have needed it (i.e. interior lighting brightness).

I, respectfully, don't think you did that right.

Your qualifier for vehicle was one that gets 15 MPG; mine is Bronco.

If the vehicle only drives 15 miles total during its useful life, then that tank is ridiculously oversized. A 21 gallon tank in a 15 MPG vehicle gives one over 300 miles of range. Are people really driving 300 miles point-to-point over open land without any gas stations?

If the GOAT mode had been labeled "Baja 500," then you and everyone else would have a legitimate complaint. The Bronco was never advertised as a cruise ship or long haul tractor-trailer. So, without any logical expectation of long distance driving, it should not have been designed with a larger tank. The more appropriate argument is that it should not have been designed with four doors since no previous iteration of the Ford Bronco came with four passenger doors from the factory. Decades of two-door Broncos back up the reasonable expectation that a Ford-manufactured Bronco would have two passenger doors(and likely a V8, haha).

This is not a boat; do not try and cross the Atlantic. This is not an F150; do not try to tow a boat that can cross the Atlantic.

This is a Bronco and anything that it should do is under 200 miles between refueling. Otherwise, you got the wrong vehicle.

Yes. I'm in Alaska. đź‘‹

It's not about convenience on single trips. Plenty of people would prefer to fill up far less frequently per week, I certainly would, and I'm getting 21ish MPG. Add in remote start and idle warmup in near-zero temps and DTE takes a hit.

More is always better here, if not for your use case.

My OG 75 Bronco had two tanks, and this one is about to. If LRA doesn't make a larger main or aux tank, I'll order a custom one and set up a transfer pump.

I respectfully disagree with your opinion.

1) may of us live in areas that you can go very long dstances without passing a gas station (if you get off the highways).... and in Chrome Pony's case... on the highway.

2)times change. preferences change. I prefer a 2 door and own a two door. but the way families interact and the expectations they have have evolved to the point that the 4 door is more feasible and practical. While I have and prefer the 2 door, I am glad they manufacture the 4 door because that is 80 percent of sales... and the total sales are attracting a very large reaction in the aftermarket industry. Without those 4 doors you would buy a bronco and then if you wanted to upfit.... It would be up to you to manufacture what ever you wanted.

3) maybe the Bronco should not have been fitted with a larger tank, but I too await the day that an aftermarket solution can meet the needs and wants of a subset of Bronco owners that would find a larger tank of value.

I’m not really looking for assessments on what you think of my vehicle or what I do with it. I’m looking for aftermarket larger tanks. Everyone has unique needs, and mine happens to be a larger gas tank. I film off road content and it costs me and my crew money when we have to stop filming and go to a gas station. We don’t get anywhere near 15mpg off road in Baja mode with a crew and a giant Motocrane on top of our rig and 37’s. Additionally, our other support rig gets almost twice the range per tank.
Oh ya…we also use the rack lol.

I'm sure you've never told someone they're using the wrong equipment, right? Haha.

If you don't want Rotopax and such hanging off the vehicle, could your support vehicle carry them?

Unless you need the smaller dimensions of the Bronco, would a diesel F250 Tremor work? They have plenty of aftermarket fuel tanks and in bed auxiliary tanks for diesel. Gasoline tanks need to be different because gasoline is "more boom than burn" compared to diesel(using internet generic descriptions so everyone can follow along).

Remember way back when we still used Betamax for broadcast and you'd see someone spend a bunch of money on a VHS camcorder or even the early digital stuff and you knew there was no way they were going to get what they shot to pass off as professional video?

Carry Gerry or ditch the rear seats and get a custom fabricated tank and be truly off-road... only... and a bit sketchy in my opinion with all that extra gasoline.

Nothing currently available off the shelf. The best solution would be to relocate the muffler and use that space for a custom built tank.
