Let me be the first to say. After all these new threads popping up of Pics in Antimatter Blue, Carbonized Gray and all other colors on vehicles that look production ready, the MIC isn't looking as bad as it did originally. It actually looks good on AB, CG, A51, RR and others. I think we may have overreacted originally.
I'm fine with the MIC gray top. I didn't see what all the fuss was about. My only complaint is the lack of the white top which really makes Broncos pop.

I've looked hard at the tops and what will best meet my needs. What I've decided is that the MIC top is perfectly fine for me. It's lighter and much more durable...so in the long run, this is the top for me. I'm going to have the top off more than it's on anyway so it's really not a bit deal. Removing and putting it back on will be an ease with the MIC top.

I'm the same, I like the texture of the MIC vs the smooth, warpy, look if the painted. Sure it would be nice if Ford just added some more Black color to the mix before molding it... but for me, as long as you have contrast, it doesn't look bad.

The gray MIC top needs to look like this one.

What a coincidence. Just last night my wife and I were discussing hard tops and we both feel the painted MOD adds too much spit and polish to our rough and tumble BD and are going to stick with the MIC (until we change our minds again!). The MIC top is like walking in to Goodwill and finding a used pair of Wranglers that fit nice and already have the Copenhagen tobacco circle ring worn in to the rear pocket.
You had me till the last sentence, lol.

Anyway, totally agree. Wife and I discussed just this morning as well. And they way I describe it, is as being 'pretty'. The modular top with the finished paint or matching body color to me is 'pretty'.

Ha ha. I was trying to evoke a “used” but comfortable look of the MIC top. When I lived in Austin in the early 90s, it was reported that Bob Dylan came to town and bought a used pair of jeans, with dip can rings worn in, from a trendy “vintage” store for s__t piles of money!

I agree with you. But this has also been said many times before in the recent weeks. As soon as the A51 Overlander was shown, the MIC top became a little less hated on.
Honestly though, if we could some how make the MIC top windows modular I would be 100% satisfied with it.
I agree. The windows not being modular is my issue with the MIC. My wildtrak is Carbonized grey, so I think mine will look good. I feel bad for the red, or blue people.

Another worry is MIC material fading over time to the washed out drift wood grey color.

I'll buy a soft top at some point!
