Hey there ya'll. As some of ya'll know, I use my Bronco for a variety of purposes. It's my daily for one, but I also enjoy rock crawling, desert mobbing and just general overlanding with my family on very lengthy adventures such as my recent Reno to Vegas 500 trip.

When I am not off-roading, I use my Bronco as a family vehicle, for hauling groceries as well as my kids supplies and strollers and whatnot.

I saw that a lot of truck guys were using Milwaukee packout systems. I also knew that electric cooking has been catching on. For those that don't know, I live in CA near the Sierra's where we experience fire bans every summer. A permit is often required to use propane cooking as well. With 2 kids, propane is always annoying to pack and i'm always balancing propane canisters vs space. I do however, always have a power station on hand since you know... influencing lol.

I saw an ad for Stoke Voltaics electric cooking system and said screw it, i'm trying it. I purchased the set for $239 plus an extra water heater for $100. The water heater wasn't really needed since I can heat water up in the pot but I wanted to try the full kit.

I did some measuring and found that the Milwaukee packout 2 drawer system was the perfect fit on my Diabolical slide-out and I could still fit my fridge, a small table and the new to me Dometic jug with a faucet.

I tested the setup on my latest trip through the Rubicon. This is my Bronco's 5th time on the Rubicon and by far the most luxurious. I am a huge fan of this setup, there was minimal if not any rattling and I loved the water feature with the Dometic setup.

It's a lot to talk about so like usual, I made a video which I hope ya'll enjoy. Its entirely unsponsored and I'm honestly just a fan.

The biggest highlight is that when i'm done messing around with overlanding, I can pull out my packout system and my bronco converts back into a dadmobile. Plus its half the cost of a traditional overland drawer system.

Enjoy!

That just looks too organized for me
Been unorganized for years. Pretty sure the XJ owner inside of me was at fault for that. But boy oh boy is it nice not having to dig through everything to get a snack. Or a tool, or the toilet paper in an emergency!

Were you on the con just this past week Monday-Thursday? 14th-17th I think I saw your truck. I was in a third gen Tacoma. My wife and I digged your paint/pin stripe. She has a 23 bronco. No we were not with the group with the upside pineapple… 🍍

would have liked to check out your setup in person.

looks like a great setup with that fridge, 🤙. Edit**just checked out your video. Nice setup, will def consider mocking up something similar with my wife’s truck when’s she ready to ding it up on the rubicon.

I may have seen ya. I was behind a group of Tacos waiting right before Rubicon Springs for the traffic to clear. If you ever see me on the trails again, I’m always down to chat! I love meeting folks on the trail.

I may adopt some of this, and even make a comparison video to yours, call its a remote collaboration of sorts. We have similar requirements. I too remove most things from my daily driver. I like the shallower drawers with the water tucked in behind. Thats very clever placement

I use Harbor Frieght’s system. Can’t afford the red/green/yellow brands. That’s electric cook system is pretty slick though.
I was using one large (very) bin, the black one with the yellow lid from Costco. But it was getting very heavy although everything I wanted to put in it at least fit.

I retired the big lid and went with the HF Bauer crates. I got two of them. And I was actually able together everything that was in the big bin into the crates. And they are smaller.

But... longer items (camp chair, machete, etc.) did not fit. Or they did but at an angle.

Because I apparently have way too much free time I designed a new crate that's longer. It will connect to the top of the HF crate. I have no idea how strong it will be or the final cost but it won't be cheap.

Is this perhaps excessive? Yes. Will it work? Probably. It will probably take me a week to print out all the parts and assemble it.

I've got an old NuWave induction hot plate, wonder how that would do. It's not quite as snazzy as the Nomad system, but it'll boil water in like 30 seconds with the right pot, and is pretty energy efficient to run on a battery system. It's not terribly large either, so would pack out fairly well - just need the cookery to go with it.

Question?
Is the sliding tray that you are using bending due to the weight or is the picture angle? Nice set up BTW.

I bent it on my previous rubicon trip. Apparently even though the slides are rated for 400 lbs. A 70 lbs floor jack was too much for the tray on the rubicon. SMH. It was strapped in with a bungie but still bounced enough to bend it. I mentioned it to Diabolical but they just claimed I had to much weight. Oh well.
