I don't think you'll get MPG numbers until production starts. I've never seen an official announcement on Bronco Sport yet (but the numbers are showing up on the window stickers of early orders).

That said, I don't think the stickers will matter for real world if you're comparing gears and tires. EPA will just rate an average setup and put it on all of them. Look at F-150, I pulled up a regular cab 4x4 5.0L with 3.31 gears and smallest 17" tires it's sticker was 15 city 21 highway. Compared it to a Crew cab 4x4 with 3.73's and 20" wheels, the rating is the same 15 and 21.

F-150 weighs about 4,600 pounds on average and it isn't the most aeroynamic with a bed on the back and the 2.7 gets in the 20s. I got 17 around town in my 3.5 EB.
Yea there’s some pretty high F150 numbers that owners have posted on YouTube from their 2.7L. One video in particular showed a 10 speed with the 2.7L get 24.8 mpg @ 75-80mph in a relatively flat region of the country. I assume the owner was on stock tires though.

Keep in mind that the speedometer is off as well so you are traveling more miles than what it says.....I put 35s on my rubi. I think it dropped from 20 to 18 ish....so about 10 percent. Between 33s and 35s you are doing about 6 percent more miles.....so a 4 percent decrease ish... Its not anywhere near that bad.

Disclaimer....JL with the 2.0 and 8 speed.
from the factory should adjust your speedometer to your tire size. if not you can also do that aftermarket

Goodness gracious folks, this horse has been beat to death so much that now it's just a pile of meat and bone chunks that have been sitting in the hot sun so long that even the opossums won't come near it! The MPG difference between 33s and 35s will be in the ballpark of 1-2 MPGs, tops 5, but probably not 25-30 percent. Running 35s on my 3.5 Ecoboost F150 (with a 93 tune), I get around 17-18.5 on the highway and that's in the Ozarks where we have plenty of hills. On the flat ground, I can get a little over 20 MPG. Right now my average for over 5k miles is around 18.1 MPG and I have 173k miles on the dang thing. If you can't keep your foot out of it, your MPG will be trash. If you drive like you have some sense, you will do just fine lol.

Well, 25% of 20MPGs is 5MPG...so:ROFLMAO:

Regardless, I'm hoping for at least 20MPGs mixed driving. Anything more than that would be great...my old S2000 and WRX both got between 18mpg-19mpg, but tech has improved since then so I think it will be a wash.

Yes, factory will, but they were talking about a rubicon with 35's that you can't get from the factory, save a very few limited edition models, but those are not made anymore IIRC.

You're going to be lucky to get that without the Sasquatch package. And the 5 MPG was tops so therefore would be an extreme. This vehicle could weigh about 300-500 more pounds than a Screw F150 with the 2.7L w/ 10 spd auto depending whether you choose 4x2 or 4x4. Then look at the 4-door Bronco. It will be even heavier. If you're looking for a vehicle that is going to get good MPG, the Bronco is probably not going to be the vehicle for you brother. Sorry to break that to you. Hopefully Ford surprises us but don't hold your breath.

I think alot will boil down to driving. If I drive at "legal" freeway speeds like 55-65 my car gets into the 40's ... if I drive "my" freeway speeds like 75 my car gets low to mid 30's.

So with the gear ratio calc from that other post, the V6 seems to be turning basically the same RPM at 70 mph if you get Sasquatch as if you don't... fingers crossed.

If you have to ask about mileage, you should be shopping a different vehicle.

I can guarantee the Bronco will do better than my F350 with a 6.8!

I am willing to bet $5 that the EPA numbers are ~1 better than an equivalent Wrangler since they are benchmarking it in so many other ways. It also wouldn't surprise me if they don't get EPA numbers for the Sasquatch and just stick the lying numbers on the sticker since I think that is a loophole you can use if rest of vehicle is the same (RAM does it across their 1500's despite huge differences with the ones with AT tires and offroad/higher springs than the street tire low-riding ones...).

Also real-world is way different than EPA, especially for vehicles like this. You drive in windy conditions and lose 20% right there, replace the C rated tires with E rated and lose 10% there, put it in 4WD-H and lose 10% there, etc. Not a Prius...

The Bronco will most likely get better city mileage than my 6.4 does. 15 MPG normal driving or 13 MPG in sport mode.

The Raptor is 15/18 with 35s (3.5L) and much heavier. Is it unreasonable to think a 2dr Bronco with 35s will get a little better than that. So 16/19 or 17/20. Lower gears though on the Bronco 4.7 vs 4.1. Thoughts?
