This might be a silly question but can these be stood on for a period of time (about the time it would take to strap down a kayak) without damaging the rock rail or twisting off?

They are about 16” wide and 5” deep.

No sir, it is lightly against the rail just to keep them from sliding. There isn’t really any pressure on the bolt and the tip is shaped in a way to not scratch the rail.

Ugggh I'm torn. Great price, but just one on the passenger side is going to look funny and it will just be in the way on my side.

I am strongly thinking of only using 3. I don't need one for driver either.
