Well, I had a off-roadeo experience scheduled for March 4th. The wife and I were very much looking forward to it after the waiting for our ordered Bronco. A weekend out of town and really going through and learning more about the ride we purchased. I was initially skeptical but went ahead and paid the $611 bucks (winch money).
I realize that the next paragraph has nothing to do with the off-roadeo but...
I made hotel reservations and we both took Friday off of work. The day arrives, packed the bags, drinks and snacks. Happy happy happy. Start the Bronco and get the Sta-Bar disconnect failure...do not drive above 20 mph. I shut it down and wait, restart, still there and determined that the sta bar was connected after running around the block. Off to the dealer. I drive into service, they initially thought it was a TSB recalibration. No biggie, waiting at the dealer an hour or so later, they needed to keep it as the Sta-Bar needs replaced. No loaner- for out of town. Cancelled the hotel and called off-roadeo folks to reschedule.
Fast forward 3 weeks, and go to reschedule and surprise....we need another $250...WTF. Spoke to the lady, no exceptions...no refunds. I spoke with Ford Customer Service...then pinged to marketing, the customer service, then marketing, then a customer service specialist, then pinged to Lincoln then pinged to Ford Pass were I learned that points were used for the "Bronco Experience" and reminded that OBX was not operated by Ford.
I spoke with the Off-Rodeo folks again and they offered to knocked off a $50 rescheduling fee...No Refunds.
What initially was a fun weekend, ended up costing me $611, a day off, a hotel room that I didn't use and I am not throwing another $200 at it. I am going to try an recoop any points that went towards the "experience". I understand rescheduling and the headache and expenses...but my 60k Bronco, quit me on my way to the "Bronco Experience". The irony of it all annoys me to no end.
I should have bought the winch.
