That is really neat! Do you feel it is secure enough to hold a handheld GMRS radio instead of phone?

I like the ball mount to the dash. It’d be nice if you could put a MagSafe charger on their instead.

I have been struggling with a phone mount on this vehicle since I got it in October of 2021. The wireless charging point in the car is useless (too small, not enough amps, driver/passenger can't see the phone). Below are some things that were tried, and failed, so others can learn from my mistakes.

I bought a generic mount to attach to the factory dash point.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B49GFXL8

The phone clamp part broke the first day I used it. The balls were plastic with an O ring and didn't really do a great job of keeping things steady. It also did not charge the phone. I saved the parts, for maybe a GoPro or GMRS, but it was obvious this was not the solution for a phone mount.

Next, I bought a Peak Design magnetic charging mount that stuck (for a while) to the dash with an adhesive pad. Works with the really nice Peak Design phone cases (and with my wife's Pixel phone with a generic magsafe compatible case).

I really liked it, the phones magnetically connected solidly but the mount itself never seemed to stick well on the textured plastic of the dash.

After the sticky stuff let go on the freeway, and the phone ended up in the footwell near the pedals, I decided to find another solution.

I just ordered this:

I think this may answer @TonkaTruck 's question. Has the Peak Design charger and the ball mount clamp described above in @SLBronco11 's post.

I will report on the product when it arrives in a few days.

Appears to be unavailable at the moment, but I put one of these on a tackform arm and it's worked great for me in the Bronco. I'm sure there are many similar options. Ran the USB-C cable to the forward power point on the dash. Holds pretty good for on road use, but I'm currently looking for a charging mount that has a bit more retention built in for off roading.

Consider where that thing goes when it becomes a projectile from air bag deployment…it’s next mounting location may not be a pleasant one.

I have been using the mount for the past couple weeks. It works well.

The little arm is just the right length for positioning on the right side of the Bronco's info screen, but not block the screen from driver's view.

The mount itself is minimalistic and seems well designed and manufactured.

I would recommend.

As for the airbag, I am pretty sure it does not deploy through the info screen, so unlikely to come flying at the passenger.

The peak design magnetic mount does not charge very powerfully using the Bronco's charger ports (usb-c). I will try the included cigar lighter charger and see if that is better...
