I'm driving myself nuts trying to decide between the manual or the 2.7.
These YouTube reviews are a mixed bag and don't help at all.

Some say the 2.3 is underpowered while others say it has adequate power.
What are you guys planning on purchasing?

Also, when will Ford release info on the 2022 model year?

My Bronco arrived today, 2.3L, manual, badlands, 4 door. I went and test drove it to make sure I was happy with it. I am a car guy, my previous cars were Chevrolet SS's and currently have a GTI, all manuals.

Coming from those it is not going to wow you. The shifter throw isn't bad, shift feel and clutch feel are vague. I would say power is adequate found I was revving it out to 3k or higher when shifting. If you are a manual person it will satisfy that, if you want more performance, get an auto.

I was going to buy a 2.3 auto at first. Then my brother asks, "If you buy the 6, do you ever think you'll be wishing you had the 4?" Probably not... He had a very good point.

For me, the decision was more on Crawler Gear vs Power. Both are fun, but I haven't had a MT in awhile let alone one with the gearing for crawling

I intend to keep this well beyond the warranty and do my own repairs. So every time I popped the hood the answer would be yes.

I don’t care how many tenths of a second faster the auto is, it’ll never be as fun. The manual is also thousands cheaper compared to the 2.7 auto. FWIW, collectors pay much more for manual transmissions. They’re rare, cheaper now and higher resale later.

Definitely not complaining, but one gripe of mine with the manual is the pull up collar for reverse and crawl and the cheap feeling shift knob. I am very used to push down lock outs and they feel more natural to me. Personal opinion I know and not a deal breaker.

manuals are fun, but i've had enough fun with them. i am enjoying the auto on my current wrangler and am not likely to get another manual, especially when i consider how often i get stuck in traffic where i live

If a manual transmission wasn’t offered on the Bronco, I’d be shopping for a different vehicle. That being said, I’m crossing my fingers that they’ll offer the 2.7 with the manual in ‘22 or ‘23 (probably won’t happen, but I can wish).
