CGW- I know very little about the interplay between offset and wheel width - are you saying that the offset will depend on the wheel width? If I went with a 8.5 wide wheel, is there a limit to the offset? Would I have more positive offset choices with an 8 wide? Thanks for any help - trying to understand this issue better
.....
Offset refers to the centerline of the wheel, and how much the tire centerline is offset from it. The rim width doesn't affect that.
+55mm moves the tire in 55mm, irregardless of whether it's a 7" or 8" wide wheel. An 8" wheel would have a little more depth to the dish than a 7" wheel. Therefor a wider rim would have more dish and more of an old school look.

Manufactures also use the term 'backspace' when describing the offset....that DOES depend on the rim width.... that gets more confusing and I'd rather not complicate this discussion!

"+45mm makes sense on a 17 x 7 (vs. +30mm on a 17 x 8)"

I have -6 on my Wrangler and wish I chose less poke.
Ditto ... I'm trying to understand how offset works myself. I've seen two forum members who have done a great job designing custom steel wheels w/o poke and wanted to understand the offset they had spec'd. In general, I understand a higher positive offset reduces poke (and higher negative increases poke) ... but increasing wheel width increases poke, so you'd want an even higher positive offset to compensate. These images have helped me understand how it works ... if you know what you have now, it s/b a matter of some math to figure out what you're looking for from a poke perspective.

Increasing wheel width doesn't really increase poke. The same tire on a wider rim will be a hair wider but not significantly. The tire centerline is still in the same place as long as both wheels have the same offset spec.

That makes sense ... TY for clarifying!

This is actually our bronco build! It took a lot of effort to get it pieced together.

There are some other required items to get this set up to work. Unfortunately, it is not the most economical path haha.

You can find our package on www.bdusa.co

If you read the link from the above post from rickperry, He said he needed to use a spacer for those wheels. Rickperry said on his site bdusa.com the wheels work great with the spacers and there is no vibration. He said the spacers were needed to clear the brake calipers on the Bronco
When I selected the wheels I liked here is the note on the bottom from US Wheel about needed spacers +$107.59 Hub:

Please excuse my ignorance but as near as I can tell, the Hub means spacers?

The hub bore for these wheels are much larger than the Broncos 93.1. (Wheels are ~108.) I made a custom adapter that both clears the brake calipers and makes it hubcentric. 8k+ miles and no issues.

This combo can only be achieved with our custom spacer+adapter combo. Otherwise you will grind your calipers into the rim and it will rust/destroy the wheel.

Our package is meant to adapt these wheels to your bronco without issue. Keep in mind, you will have to find a place to water jet cut the spare tire moon piece if you decide to order through US Wheel.

Ok my wheels are all done for my rig. Now all that needs to happen is be delivered. Had a 11/3 build date. And sill no sign of it. Getting frustrated for sure.

Thanks again AARDVARK122 for the details on your wheels (just ordered the same set-up and Terry was super helpful) ... really like the FORD detail you added to the caps - can you share how you accomplished this?

thanks for the link! I have a set of wagon wheels off at the powder coater (not US Wheels). This gives me another view of what it'll look like if the Bronco ever gets built :p

ICON Rebound Pros powder coated white are fairly close to a modern tribute to the classic wagon wheels.
