The side operation got missed. Chamfer, drill and ream. It happens sometimes, not surprising.

The surprising part is that it made it past powder coat and any QC points.

I've had those off when I had my bumper off. The whole bumper has to come off. There is a single bolt on each one that holds them onto the bumper from behind. It wasn't bad but it's pretty heavy.

If you want more info about removing them, let me know.

I’ll have to look when it’s not so cold out as to how it bolts on. Even tho I have the modular bumper I hope it doesn’t have to come all the way off. To access the bolts.
That‘s ridiculous!

These guys at JCR Off-road remove it during the first few minutes of the video. If you’re only unbolting one side it doesn’t seem as if the entire bumper will need to come off since the other side should hold the bumper on while replacing. Your dealer should be able to do this without screwing it up, but if they’re totally incompetent who knows….

I was thinking, how'd that pass inspection, but i don't think Ford had QC anymore:ROFLMAO:

Even qc from the parts supplier, no one cares anymore:ROFLMAO:
Not only many layers of manufacturing and assembly QC, but Ford PDI seems to suck too.

"Quality is Job #1". Oh never mind, that was from a long time ago.
"At Ford, quality is 1 man's Job" was how we quoted it. 😁

Have your dealer order a replacement. They just bolt on. Super easy.
If they will let me do it I will. Had my Super duty in for recall and they broke the plastic lock cap that goes up and down! It’s a smooth plastic part that threads on by hand. Even tho they had to remove the door panel it’s a smooth part that should slide right out of the panel. If they can split that in half not sure I want them doing anything bigger.

Ford Apologists will show up in, 3, 2, 1....
  • Don't you know we're in the middle of a pandemic?
  • It's due to Covid you know!
  • There's a supply chain crisis happening you know!
  • None of this is Ford's fault, it's the supplier's fault!

@Cat another one for your checklist.

That’s actually a German designed recovery point. The Hymen Shackle is designed to be compatible with specialized time delayed D rings. After your bronco goes through it’s break in period it’ll let you know when it’s ready. Don’t force it the first time.

Just keep it, or trade it with someone here. I like oddball stuff. I'd trade you mine but no bronco yet. Unless you need them or this drives you crazy i think it's cool. Definitely a mistake, but not terrible as you probably won't need it anyway

Do not google "Hymen Shackle" unless you want to learn something new today.
