According to the Service Manual, after replacement of sensor, "Using the diagnostic FDRS scan tool, follow the on screen prompts to run and reset the outside air temperature sensor learned values."
I don't have FDRS to do this.
Replaced my sensor that was stuck at 63 degrees. The new sensor seems to take some driving around to be correct. I did not disconnect the battery ground cable.

Mine always shows a bit warm when you start her, but that's just the heat off the parking lot.

Got it to read 124 the other day when the weather guys said it was only 1118. (of course, that 118 is in the shade)

Same problem here but in the opposite direction. I was reading consistently about 20 degrees hotter than reality. I disconnected the sensor and cleaned some gunk off. Now it’s showing about 10 degrees too high. I’m probably going to order the part this weekend. I’d rather spend the 5-10 dollars than have to bring it in for service and be without a vehicle for half a day.

Be aware that the system has an algorithm to prevent false readings, particularly on hot restarts. Since the sensor is located in the grille close to the radiator/condenser it would read well over 100 degrees on a hot restart, so the system remembers the temperature at shut down and displays that temperature until the car is driven. While driving it will gradually adjust the temperature display until it reaches the sensor reading. The change is slower going from cold to hot than hot to cold. After several hours it will read actual temperature on start because it can be assumed that the sensor is reading actual ambient temperature.

And those sensors are simply thermistors, they rarely fail.

The sensor in the bronco is in the bottom of the drivers mirror.
There have been lots of reports failed sensors, but most of them usually happened in earlier model years like 21-22.

I forgot about moving them to the mirror. Thanks for the correction. They were on the radiator support forever.

Mine is intermittently showing 7-10 degrees cooler than ambient or it just freezes up like when it showed 63 degrees at the start of Engineer Pass and still showed 63 at the summit even though it was way colder at the top. My dealer can’t reproduce the issue but it’s getting more frequent

Mine is low by about 10-20 degrees (variable) consistently. I’ve decided to not care. At least for now.

A few years back, one thread said that you have to hit a certain speed for the sensor to start updating (30 mph, or something similar?).

I've noticed on local drives down the street, my temperature doesn't update until I get to 30+ mph speeds.

I now have this problem, my sensor is 25-30 Deg high. 2021 WildTrak. I find it interesting according to this Fourm that the sensor is inthe drivers mirror. What happens if you remove the doors then?

The mirrors aren’t on the door on a Bronco, different than a jeep. When the doors come off the mirrors are still attached.

No worries. Popping that sensor out and replacing super easy and cheap too.
