85 ° vs HI. Temp ?

Wondering what the temperature difference is when you turn knob past 85°. When it says HI -- What is the actual temperature.

Anyone have the facts?

There is no actual temp. It just goes full heat or full cold forever.

It depends on how far past 85 you turn the knob. If you turn it farther, the HI gets more HI.

Whatever the temperature is of the air passing through the heater core. It is not regulated by climate computer.

Take an infrared thermometer and let us know your findings.

The temperature stated does not match the temperature of the air coming out the vent. The temp stated is the targeted cabin air temperature.

Whether you ask it for 19°C or 25°C it’ll blast full heat as needed to get you there and then back off. Especially when it’s -30 outside.

The temp here isn't controlling the fans, but it just ignores the thermostat. Basically at HI, yes it can potentially get hotter than 85, as the heater core is just going to keep dumping heat into the system. I'm not sure what Ford has the internal limit set at but, in theory, it could keep pumping heat roughly equal to the engine temp as the heater core is cycling the coolant through it.

"Hi" on the heat setting means "1966 degrees or however hot your engine gets" (whichever comes first)
