Are you supposed to hear air while your turbo engages or just when the air blows off? I can hear both. It sounds as if I can hear the air going into the turbo from the new intake. Is this normal?

Backstory -

I installed the K&N cold air intake for my 2022 2.3L Black Diamond last week. I had an issue with the two grommets being too large for the pre-drilled holes in the intake tube. Called K&N and they had my measure them and sure enough - 1/16th too small.

With a round file I slowly widened the hole and everything works well. Blew out all the plastic shavings and installed the tube and intake into the bronco.

I don't have the K&N intake, but this is pretty normal with all aftermarket intakes. OEM intakes are designed to muffle the turbo sounds, most aftermarket intakes are not designed that way.

Yes, it's normal. I have had the K&N installed on my 2.3OB for over a year.
