I've been riding in and driving the OBX (moar door, lifted Explorer, call it what you will) for a couple of months now, and have kept thinking "boy, this really is a truck". I drive VW GTI, and we came from minivans--most recently the most gorgeous, best driving minivan of all, the Pacifica. So yeah, the Bronco is way different for us.

This past weekend we went to my father in law's to get one of his pickups to use for a week or two for a project. It's a '99 Chevy full size crew cab, complete with the poofy velour-like seats that seem to be an essential part of the suspension (if you ask my ass). Only 28K miles on it, but still. I have to believe the tires are OE, but I don't know. It drives, it brakes (well, enough), the steering wheel seems to point the front end appropriately.

Tonight I got back into the wife's OBX. Suddenly it's a sports car. No more will I complain about the ride quality.

I drive a 2004 F150 and a Sas Bronco (not the wagon), I think they ride down the highway about the same (when the f150 was new). Of course there's no comparison with the interior space, the Bronco feels like a compact.

My newer F150 rides like a classic ‘80s Crown Vic.

My Bronco rides like my older F150s used to

I’m not complaining about either- just observations

I love the way mine rides (OBX non-sas, 275/65/18 BFG Trail Terrains). In my opinion, it rides like it's supposed to ride which is truck-ish but not jeep-ish. My commute (3 days) is roughly 50 miles on the highway, and really do enjoy cruising in it. It's got just the right amount of noise, just the right amount of feedback to fit what it is. We have a Mercedes 2020 GLS450 on air suspension if I really want to roll around on a boring cloud. I've had many GTI's as well, and came into the Bronco from a Mercedes E350 sedan I had for 7 of its 10 years. I have little to complain about on the Bronco. In my opinion, as long as the car acts, behaves, and performs like it supposed to, then I'm good. It's when it doesn't, is when I'm not good. That's why I won't ever buy another Lexus. Ultra smooth, until it isn't and you're on the parts hunt to find which suspension bushing our mount is weakening. That is an expensive and frustrating rabbit hole to go down, and just not worth it.

I went from a 2002 Subaru WRX wagon to a Badlands with the high package. I feel like I'm driving a luxury car.

I like my 2022 Base Bronco Sasquatch way more than a 2023 GTI Autobahn I had not for long. I only got barely 30 MPG on the highway in the GTI going 70 MPH. I get almost 23 in the Bronco. That GTI guzzled gas for what it was, compared to the Bronco it should have got 40.

Ride quality is good, it the noise level at highway speeds that is horrible. I’ve become accustom to it, then use my Mercedes GLE63s (albeit with noise reducing glass) and realize how noisy the Bronco is. It’s so loud I cannot use hands free to call someone without them commenting they can’t hear me - with windows up.

That's weird. I can use it in mine with the soft top no problem. Even at highway speeds.

I use handsfree with the top back and all the windows open. They ask me, are you going through a car wash? But they can hear me.

Screw them if they can't. It's about me.
