Build date of June 3 with hard top and roof rack. Was just playing around on the Ford site, and I see a disclaimer that I haven't seen before about roof rack interfering with Sirius XM. Anyone have the roof rack and experiencing issues?

Purchased the OEM rack used and the guy warned me. It does, in fact, interfere with the reception. It doesn’t really bother me as the frequency of “cut outs” isn’t that great…pre install drive to work it probably cut out 3 times, post install maybe 5-6? Each time for 1-2 seconds.

I, too have noticed more sensitive reception issues with my hardtop and factory roof rack. I am of the belief that the reception sensitivity issues stem from the installation of the antenna to the top of the roll bar inside the vehicle with the roof impeding the signal, rather than being mounted somewhere on the exterior, as normally placed on other vehicles.

when I had the soft top I never had a problem, the Anderson Composites top states "may interefere with SiriusXM antenna reception" and boy howdy does it...you'd think they could have made that one spot where the antenna goes thinner so that it didn't interfere

With a Trailrax, yes. However the interference is minimal. Start stacking thing up there and the inference is profound. No radio reception by us, so it is all XM or iPhone.

Ford specification program has a small line note warning that says the roof rack option will impede satellite radio reception

Yea that's what caught my eye today. Someone must have a way to improve this.

Reroute from inside to the roof, that’s all you can do. I think it was a previous post where somebody did it. Could be a multitude of random reasons why Ford engineering put it inside.

Yes and no. It's what you put on the roof rack, and where. I stupidly installed my fly rod holder (made out of metal) on the driver's side of my roof rack and I'd occasionally have outages depending on which direction I was driving. It turns out it was right over the antenna. Moving it to the passenger side of the roof rack fixed it - no outages at all.
