Sasquatch Stock Tires in Snow?

Now that old man winter is waking up. Did anyone get a chance to drive their Sasquatch stock tires in snow? We had about 8 inches of snow here recently would of been a good test but I don’t have my Bronco yet.

Very few, if any, forum members have driven in the snow yet. I’m following this subject closely, as I have the same question about these tires. I’ve thought about siping them for winter use and getting another set for summer.

I went with the "regular" 32" tires, but as far as snow itself the more aggressive tread pattern should be good. The difference will be ice under the snow. And that will depend on several factors, not just tire width (narrower is usually better as it provides greater psi downforce) but also the rubber stiffness and reaction under below freezing temps.

If you want the most winter traction get a set of studded snows if your state allows. I has excellent results on another vehicle with snow tires that were glass particle infused instead of steel studs.

The SAS tires were supposed to be M+S rated but for whatever reason I don't think they got the certification

Mine is scheduled for production in Late November, so hopefully I can give you some feedback in January. Living in Chicago, it's almost certain to snow in the winter.

The tires look like they have a lot of siping, so that is encouraging.

It's not stamped on the tire so I'm going to say no it isn't

Unless it has recently changed, the 315's for Sasquatch are not triple snowflake. The smaller sizes could be, but not the 315's.

No it is not, they are not snowflake rated.

I am championing this because.

1) some of us live in a place where the 3 peak is legally required, you'll need new tires for that
2) On ice and sub-zero squatch tires are pretty sub-optimal.

For those looking for an alternative, I'm going for the Toyo Gsi6 on steelies https://www.toyotires.ca/tires/winter-tire-passenger-cars-vans-and-suvs-light-trucks-observe-gsi-6

The Hakkapeliitta can be had in squatch sizes, but the rubber along is an extra grand over a whole wheel package with GSi6

I've used GSi5 and will sing it's praises, have not used 6 but I presume its just as good

Right answer to the wrong tire. The 33” BFG KO2s are snowflake-rated, not the SAS Goodyears.

This is why I went with the 33s.

I think I believed Bronco Nation or TFL when they said they're triple snowflake. This feeds into my natural desire to dislike Goodyear products.

So that is confirmed? The tread pattern looks to be very effective in snow. Way more so than for mud or dirt. But it was my understanding that they hadn't gone through certification so they couldn't be stamped 3 peak yet. Not that they wouldn't in the future.

I always have had two sets of tires for my vehicles. Was thinking of keeping the Sas tires for winter only in fact. Dedicated triple peak tires for Nov - April and usually true mud terrains for summer off roading. The only exception to that is on my 4Runner and I went with Falken Widlpeaks AT3Ws. Great, reasonably priced tire with the 3 peak rating and very good pattern for most off road needs.

Btw, what is the load rating on the sasquatch tires? Someone take a pic of the sidewall specs please.

Hello fellow 403'er.

I had the BFGs on my Suburban and on ice they are awful. Snow/slush no problem, but if you find yourself driving ice lots, you're gonna want something else.
