I should clarify.

I put a deposit on the bronco because I want a bronco.

I don't need a new car. The one I have is fine and paid for. So there really isn't a need to spend money I don't need to on a car I don't need that isn't the one I want.

If you like the bronco sport and want and can afford it then trade it in later onthen the bronco you want I say go for it.

You will just lose $$$ on depreciation. If you already have a car why not just be patient?

I just bought a Cherokee. Only because:
1. For the things I want to do here, my FWD GTI wasn't going to cut it for long.
2. I got a great trade-in offer on that GTI.
3. I got an even better deal on the Cherokee.

Yes, I'm ultimately going to lose some money next year, but at least for now.. I'm a lot more content waiting for further delays. Ford, take as long as you need to get it right!

(Another thing to consider: Unless you're paying cash, it will be an extra hard inquiry on your credit that you otherwise would not have had)

Good deal then! I almost added an "if you care" to the end of that statement. Hah.

Hey, if it works and it makes you happy in the interim.. do what you want to do! I'm sure you won't be the only one trading in a Bronco Sport for a Bronco.

Totally serious here. If you are looking for a bridge, get yourself a used Wrangler. Go less than 5 or so years. It will virtually keep all of its value AND you will have a great perspective to compare your new Bronco to! Matter of fact, given how valuable this comparison is, I might pay you to do it!

Now... Stop talking and get to it!

I thought about buying a Sport for a bridge vehicle for a second and then my biggest fear was "what if my wife really likes it?"

The Bronco sport I saw at the dealership is very nice a little small but for under 30g there is nothing like it out on the market today.

I like the Sport, but those smaller Ecoboosts have a class-action lawsuit going on right now.

Sure why not. You can give it to your significant other when the big boy arrives. Looks like a good second vehicle to have around the city.
