How do you all store your hardtops? I was wondering if sitting it upright would be a problem because of the locating pins. I don’t want them to break so I was wondering if there was a more efficient way to store it, should I just take them off, or do you think it wouldn’t matter and they would be ok?

Mine goes straight on the floor every time. Been sitting on garage floor for months since I put on Trektop. You could throw a couple pieces of 2x4 under it if your worried.

I’d throw a couple pieces of wood on the ground so it doesn’t sit on the pins. I’d also probably go overboard and try to grab an old wooden pallet from a business to use, so the weight is balanced out more and it’s off the ground. Usually you can find these pallets for free if you ask.

The pins aren’t designed to hold the weight of the top and will break.
I bought four of these from Home Depot for $1.60 while I wait for my TopLift.

I took mine off and store them in the tool pouch. I keep my roof on a wire ceiling shelf and it would get stuck with the pins on.

Any suggestions on how to remove them? I know they don’t screw out, so imagine you have to pop them out. Take a rubber mallet to them?

NO! The bolts screw into the pins. Just hold the pins with some pliers and screw the bolts out.

Is it much more difficult to get the hardtop back on without the locating pins?

I haven't put it back on yet, but my plan was to put the pins back on first.

I haven't done it yet, but I'm planning on lifting my hardtop off with straps, then just lifting it higher and letting it hang.

I find the top easier to re-install without the pins. Because there is no worry about the pins scratching something, breaking, or having to align the top perfectly when first setting it down on the body. With another person we set the top down and then slide if necessary to position the holes.

As @entomophile mentioned, grab the plastic pins with a pliers and then unscrew with a screwdriver. They screw on, so don't try to knock them out.

First time removing my hardtop, I removed the pins and have not missed them. Although without the pins you have to line up the mounting holes visually, and might have to push inward a bit on the hardtop, to better line up the holes when ratcheting down the mounting bolts.

Does this lift fold up when not in use? Is it specifically for two door Broncos or is it for Jeeps but works for Broncos? How does it get around the rear roll bar? Do you have a link to their website?
