So if I am getting a 21 model and I tell Ford I don’t want my MOD painted top. I get the soft top for no charge save $1800 then in 8-10 months later use the 200,000 points Ford gave me towards buying the painted and save $1000 off the top. Does that sound like a plan?

I don't think it will work like that. Well it might, but the mod top is still cheaper at ordering time.

I don't know about the points thing but I'm doing something similar. So yes that makes sense to me. I'll get the included soft top and basically see how I feel later / explore the aftermarket. I could go with a premium soft top or switch to a body colored modular hard top.

Thread ender right here: yes, that does sound like "a plan".

Pretty loose guidelines you've established here. Fire bombing the dealership is also in the running as it's a plan.

FWIW: X-plan pricing = free mod top

Rule #1: You don't talk about Ford's plan.

Rule#2: You just got punched in the face by Ford's plan, now stop talking about it!
Thanks for the pep talk

8-10 months is ambitious for another top. I'm thinking you'll be able to purchase JUST the top in 2023 at the earliest.

You won’t have the hookups for wiper / defrost.
Ford should revisit this, given that a lot of customers will now be forced into a soft top. Many of them will want to get a mod top later on and the vehicle won't be equipped properly.

Where do the 200,000 points come from?
